champ is horrible. essentially made me give up on ranked. It's either braindead all mechs nonsense going nowhere or people that haven't yet learned how to jump. Everyone's always on offense and defending just isn't an option. Noone ever has boost, noone is where they need to be, but everyone thinks they're the best. It truly is a terrible thing to experience.

He won all of his games, barely because some of his teammates were giving him zero time to get back and selling open nets a lot . He legit was getting tilted by how bad some of the guys on his team were . Champ is the worst rank to get through

As a champion 2 I can confirm that there is a lot of stress ahead 😶‍🌫 diamond 3 and gc 1 are basically the same thing, same level of gameplay, same toxicity, (lottery games, one game will be super fast in GC and well structured and another 9 games will be full of errors and lucky goals that hit the corners and enters the goal).

It's all subjective. People can hit SSL in 800-1k hours as prodigies, then there are people who can barely hit GC after 4-6k hours. Don't look at others journeys and compare it to yours, we all have different learning curves and limitations. Some of us just have more or less barriers along the journey of progression.

I’ve hit GC 7 times and peaked at 1500+ (GC2), I can’t for the life of me get out of C2 -C3 anymore. Even though I don’t play ranked anymore, when I do… it’s a gamble. Crazy to me how stupid some decision making is. Just see ball hit ball. I can usually do fairly well and help the best I can but randoms and defensive mindsets DO NOT CORRELATE. But, go in with homies and run into nothing but smurfs. I don’t get it. Idk what to do. Just be better I guess…

The game has been out since 2015, and a large majority of the player base has been playing for 5+ years or more. Consider that with the fact a very low % of players in your lobbies are "new players" and you realize you are playing against mostly smurfs or former gc1-2 in your C2-C3 lobbies because of this. It sucks but I see it even with my friends who used to be GC2 and now struggle to retain C3. I peaked at C2 and I float around D2-D3 now.

I got to GC1 in twos during FTP Season 6 and 8. That was my peak, but I have stayed at C1 and C2, until this season. I am back in C3. Finally decided to change up my play style a little bit. Trying to be more passive, implement fake challenges, try to improve passes and more passing to my solo que teammates, not go for too many risky challenges, take time with the ball in moments you might bomb it away, etc. I wold make things easier for your teammates in the end. I try to make my teammates shine. Most people want to ball chase so I play defensive and try to fake challenge or calculated 50/50s that kill the ball or easily allows my teammate to follow it up and make a play with my support. Watching videos from Flakes or AirCharged Gaming are good examples of this.

Watching Retals play so badly at the beginning gave me motivation to grind right now and really focus. I am gold 3 div 3, I'll update this when I end my session. Oh .... Edit: Bro I swear the very first game I play my opponent (gold 3 -_-) hit a double off my backboard and tried air dribbles off the side wall, even hit a decent flip reset. Yeah. Okay, I think it's been 5-6 hours, I played 45 games. I went from gold 3 div 3 to gold 3 div 3 div 4 I don't remember and I honestly don't give a single fuck it's 4:25 AM and I just went 24-21 SPECIFICALLY WLWLWWWWWWLLLWLWLLWWLLWWWWWWLWWLLLLLWLLWLWLWL IN ORDER I AM BORDERLINE CRYING Conclusion: I am never playing RL competitively. I don't know how clear this is, but that 5 loss streak near the end, going from 20-11 to 20-16 and hen 21-18 completely broke me, literally almost in tears. I have never missed so many open nets, nah I'm not getting into this further I hated this, I'll just leave you at this: if I am ever presented with an open net shot ever again, I am NOT taking it. I am never playing RL competitively again.

You are missing basic fundamentals and undoubtedly repeating similar mistakes if you play close to 50 games and don't rank up in gold. Sorry to say but try saving replays and seeing what and where specifically when stuff goes wrong, and try to make adjustments to negate the mistakes in the future.

@@11ghtning Well you are mostly right. Though I did go from gold 3 div 3 to plat 1 div 4 (without skipping div 1) in one session, I was 20-11 until a horrible loss streak. But I'll tell you that I am undoubtedly missing way too many opportunities, I think I miss 1.5 wide open nets every game on average, and very often they counter attack back. And I also don't save some very easy shots like once a game. So yeah, you're right, but I've watched a lot of replays of mine and I just can't help it, I play on keyboard and I am just so inaccurate with my movement it's like I don't know the controls yet. Thanks!
