You are telling the truth. Nowadays, a lot of people makes marriage their idol. Life isn’t about being married. As a Christian, your life is about being in a relationship with the Lord and make disciples. Before getting married there’s a whole process to be done. Everyone wants a perfect husband but they are not the perfect wife yet. Let the Lord mold you, break you and work in you before meeting your husband. He’ll find you when the Lord will see you are ready for it.
@YouNoob5736 жыл бұрын
if you are talking about nuns and monks "Life isn’t about being married. As a Christian, your life is about being in a relationship with the Lord and make disciples" exactly on point but i'm pretty sure that if you are not one you are doing the christian think wrong me personally i'm a atheist(disclaimer) and if i had to describe christianity first thing that comes to mind is belief in god and marriage maybe i missed a thing but yeah you get the point its a big part of it

I think society’s obsession with relationships comes from the deeper desire for a relationship with God-the fact that marriage was made to resemble Christ and His Church makes it the closest thing the world has to fulfilling that deep desire (but it can’t fully satisfy). Thank you so much for posting this!! I really appreciate all you do:) Also-definitely check out “One Thing” by Rich Mullins. I’ve never heard of the Hillsong one, but I love this song!

Great video! I’m 25 and until now felt super rushed to be married already. For awhile I’ve been disappointed and the older I got the more I’d be disappointed. I’ve only recently come to a turning point, I’m in a incredible relationship and I’m content with enjoying day to day with this man. I pray for marriage still but I’m not devastated anymore if it doesn’t happen tomorrow because I know it’s all in God’s plan. Today he placed my loving boyfriend in my life again and I’m happy with just that. To be grateful and live in the now and that’s good enough. ❤️

Amen. I think that our society (both Christians and non-Christians alike) put way too much focus on their desires for relationships and marriage rather than on Christ. Rather, when we seek Jesus, he can fulfill us more than any relationship could. I have this thought, but I think God may actually call some to forego marriage in order to get to know Jesus more and dedicate more time to serving him and others more. I think our culture is so wrapped up in their relationships (whether they're single and waiting, dating, or married) that eventually the focus shifts more towards themselves and how they can have their needs and desires met. I personally kinda want to get to a point where I know God more and know him so much that I don't care if I end up skipping marriage in THIS life as I'll have a little first hand sneak peek of the marriage with Him in the next life. Anyways, great video! Keep doing what you're doing for the Lord! 👍

I totally agree that our society focuses on marriage and relationships. There is definitely an opportunity for single people to pursue God in a way that married people can't because marriage requires a certain amount of time and commitment. I do want to point out that there is an aspect to marriage that absolutely, unequivocally can make you a better Christ follower and bring you closer to God. Now there are a lot of variables, like choosing someone who does bring you closer to God and choosing to let your marriage make you a better Christian. I can say after 8 years of marriage, that choosing to get married is NOT taking the easy road out. So I think that everything you said is totally right and ultimately it's everyone's choice whether they do choose marriage or not, but I can telly you that my marriage has a huge role in how strong my faith is and where I am with God. It's not that either staying single or marriage is good or bad. They are both fine options, if they are done in a God honoring way.
@alexlicht41196 жыл бұрын
yes, and that thought that God may call some to forego marriage is so relevant, as that is Him calling some to the vocation of single life!

Romance in this day and age, is like rolling dice. Finding it and making it sustainable stresses me out. But, we have to ask ourselves like you said: why are we ultimately here? For our own pleasure? What did God put us here to do? We all have a debt to pay and...we count our blessings at the end. We may or may not find marriage. I’m a 23 year old male and this video helped me. You reminded me. Peace and blessings to you.

Not to mention that NOT everyone is called to marriage. People seem to think marriage is an essential part of growing up or the "next step" and that's not always the case. Once we toss out this misconception we'll have stronger marriages, leading to stronger families and communities. Marriage is another way to honor God, but a lot of people focus this attention on their future spouse instead and that can be idolatry in and of itself. Marriage also requires a lot of sacrifice, as a wife and mother. At the end of the day, if you can't feel your faith being strengthened by relationships or the responsibilities don't sit well with you, then you're probably not called. Don't wait for a husband to start chasing God, because it was never about him. It's about Him.
@cutepuddleslime82014 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAYING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am currently 17 and I have no interest in having a boyfriend; I never even had an interest in falling in love with a boy to begin with. I do feel love mostly from family, friends and God. I see so many of my peers talk about crushes, it makes me think that everyone is having a crush and I feel like the "weirdo" that doesn't even feel the slightest interest in boyfriends or having a husband; now that may change in the future as adulthood creeps in. Fortunately my family doesn't tell me that it is an obligation to want a boyfriend and that if I don't want a boyfriend then that was okay by them, because I don't think I can have this amount of responsibility or self-sacrifice to even have a person dedicating my life to (except God). Props to any wife/husband that have this proper amount of self-sacrifice and/or dedication to one another, especially Christians. P.S. My responsibilities will be revolving around spreading the Word of God, family, friendships, improving my art skills, and having a family of pets.

There's happiness when I did that, bu then something like popped up in my deep heart says like 'Is that right? Is that something you want or God wants?' and then, this morning KZbin recommends this video and I've watched this. So, I can say that, my focus was a lil' bit (maybe a lot) shifted before.. because I just imagine and trying to show how I have 'a very beautiful dream' without realising that He's already has purposes in me. After I watched this, I realized that it's not about me, but Jesus first. Thankyou ms. Becca for your sharing that encourages me. God bless you always 💗

Stumbled on this page. Must say, thank you Lord! Sort of thought the kids of today know nothing about Christ love or anything good. You for putting this video out and for all the other young kids commenting I thank you! I mean no disrespect but so many kids of today have lost their souls and this was a very refreshing splash on the face that God has kept a remnant of youth from today! Your message spot on, young miss. Christ must be first, before a marriage! When my wife was alive, she was a believer and I put her through hell on earth. Was a biker, wicked in every sense of the word. New not what love was. Cheated often on her. I kept telling her she should leave for I will always be like this and she would start reading the verse, about what love is. At the time I would just roll my eyes cause I did not understand. Lord did take her, I refused to accept him. Now I understand fully. Lord has opened my eyes and heart. Wish I had the chance to love her in the manner that Christ had planned. Many regrets. Most who knew me, pastors included thought I could never be saved unless Christ removed her from me. Christ does discipline those he loves. I know I am loved. I wish I would have followed the road of Christ as King David did, from my youth. My testimony and here is a bit of wisdom. Abide in Christ and him in you! Had a pastor tell me long ago, just read the Bible and it will change you. I gave him 2 months and if no change I would be gone. Everyday reading and other stuff. Stopped putting in garbage and ate only the good. Everyone noticed something different with in a month! 2 verses that say"good will come to those who read his words. No it is not the one that promises blessing for reading Revelation:) Christ is the word, the Bible is the Living Word Of Christ! Will bring life to dead things like me. Keep up the good work! May the Lord watch over all you youth!

I am totally binge watching your videos, but I have to say, I love this one probably the most! I grew up Christian and unfortunately turned away from God for awhile and searched for that fulfillment in other things. As much as I know my parents love me and wanted me to know Jesus did, too, I kind of feel like I grew up just knowing about Jesus instead of truly knowing who he was, as well as my identity in God. One night (as a new re-born, dedicated Christian) I was praying asking God why I hadn’t found my guy. I mean, here I am at church one of the only single friends left and I felt so alone and confused. One night I was praying that same prayer for probably the millionth time and God convicted me and said, “Am I not enough for you?” Girl when I tell you I almost screamed, I really thought that was it. 🤣 he has taught me so much about unconditional love since then and I have learned to be okay by myself because I know I’m not alone! He is always going to be enough 😍 Thank you for being you!

Matthew 6:33 NASBBut seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. // Think of it as a short cut to life, also the most important task you will ever take on to know God and be known by him. Have faith and know that his love and power and provision is immeasurable toward us. What He wants for us is far better then what we could stumble upon walking through life blind. The closer you get to Him the easier it is to hear His voice which makes decision making much easier. He's got it all under control and no relationship comes before the Lord.

Sometimes I'll stumble upon a twitter of people I know in real life and all too often I see these same kind of tweets that you were talking about and it saddens me! Usually it's from mid-to-late teenage girls, as guys don't open up like that online generally. As a guy, I don't really understand the longing to be in the "ideal relationship" ASAP, so I always am confused as to why a girl would want to place their whole identity in a relationship with some guy. Of course marriage and relationships are great things, but finding one's identity in the Lord is so much more important! Two halves don't make a whole in a relathionship, two whole people (made complete in Christ) made a solid relationship.

For me, it is not so much about being in a relationship/ marraige. I tend to put my pursuit to become a doctor before God. I pray that I am able to put God before my goals/ career.

Great message, Becca! It's so important to put God first. Plus, life is so much more amazing when we do that, anyway. It's totally a win-win situation.
