Man, Fred Hammond, the first time I listened to him, was after running away from home in the middle of the night barefooted in my pjs as a preteen after a horrible demonic fight my dad (a nonbeliever) was having with my mom, a strong woman of the Lord. I ran to my god aunts house for safety and I stayed up each night for 3 nights just watching Fred Hammond worship videos nonstop on VHS, no calls to home, just stayed in worship. I was in such a dark place during that time and that saved my live, calmed me down and gave me the strength to endure a difficult family time.

I have to agree with him, there’s something about the water and healing. Spirit of David is one of my favorite albums as well. “Keeping my mind” is my favorite song off that album. Thank you sir for being so authentic and worshiping in spirit and in truth.Blessings

Wow, it's so refreshing to hear Fred talk real talk. He's a real man, not untouchable. He seems like someone you can talk and laugh with. I absolutely know what he means about the water. When I went through my divorce the Lord used the water and early morning walks to help heal my soul. After listening to Fred I realized now what was happening during that time. I felt so much better sitting by the water. I didn't want to leave, it was so therapeutic. Thanks my brother for being so candid. Stay focused on HIM! Blessings to you 💯

She only have two people outside her circle. I had two of my friends reach out to her. They made our marriage worst. We also had counseling. The counseling session made it worst. She never made any good commit. My wife is not around any positive people. We have a blended family. Two of her son has mental challenges. I try to help but she doesn’t want to help them. She loss her mom 4 years ago and not motivated at all. I try to to encourage her. She is not motivated. We live in apartment and she has a house. Every time we have a problem. She goes to that house. "You are the living word" is one of my favorites! Thank you for the ministry of worship, Fred! Worship is my lifeline and I'm thankful for all you went through to be able to release so much musical comfort! Take-A-Ways: Now I understand from a different place why I love the beach so much in my adult years! On my birthday of 2020 I cried more than half of the day. I went to the beach and felt Soo much better when I left! Next lesson - when you are intentional about your purpose and the impact you desire to leave in the world, when asked how others response to your gift makes you feel, you can respond, "I was happy and it feels good!"! Last, I pray for our Kingdom Men! Lord please cause them to rest in You, vulnerability and brotherhood in Jesus Name! We (women) NEED you to take your rightful place in the Kingdom, in our homes and in the world! We have work to do! Together! Great episode!

Hearing this man speak was... something. I, like many, have listened to Fred Hammonds music as an lamp through some dark times. The musical genius. The wisdom. I don’t care were I am, if I hear Fred.. my spirit will tap in. Love the realness here. Oan, I met Derrick in undergrad and heard him discuss the book he was writing. I met him in a campus ministry. I remember people in ministry being upset with him, because he was exposing some truths. I understand the hypocrisy and I can’t deny the reality of his words. Some of them in ministry felt exposed by him, but he never professed to be Christian at that time. So, there is some perspective in his origin.

I truly thank you gentlemen for sitting before us and sharing your truth. I totally respect and adore both of you. Although I never met brother Fred Hammond, he's been apart of my "life preserving music" arsenal as I've moved throughout this life from the early 90's to present day. Walking, crawling, and many times being carried by our Father as I fought to stand with confidence, dignity, and self-respect. The lyrics of your music comforted, encouraged, and lifted my spirit. I praise God Almighty for your obedience and determination to bring forth excellence and not just "good enough". I was a die hard clubber jamming to Heavy D when my spirit filled sister introduced me to Fred Hammond and Commission back in the day. God's message was definitely in the music. I was hooked and have been every since. "I Press" was my fighting song after dissolution of a 20 year marriage. I pray your continued blessings.
