Ich kommentiere eigentlich nur sehr selten, aber hier muß ich auch mal was zu sagen. In diesem Video werden natürlich viele der schlechten Seiten an Deutschland gezeigt, allerdings kann man das bei jedem Land machen und die Bilder wären nicht wirklich besser. Rammstein (und auch die deutschen) haben wenigstens den A*sch in der Hose, das auch zu verarbeiten und sich damit zu beschäftigen, ich möchte einen Ami, Briten, Franzosen oder irgendeinen anderen Landsmann sehen, der das auch macht. Alle sind so viel besser als die Deutschen und haben nie etwas schlechtes gemacht, schon gar nicht die Amis. Dann zu kommen und uns auf die 12 Jahre von 1933 - 45 zu reduzieren (ja das war ne echt schlimme Zeit, brauchen wir gar nicht drüber reden) und N**i zu sagen ist schon wirklich sehr sehr dumm. Zur Info, Rammstein ist weit davon entfernt rechts oder gar rechtsextrem zu sein. Till's Art zu singen ist halt etwas anderes, ja er rollt das R oft, aber das auch nur beim singen, das macht ihn nicht zu einem N**i. Wahrscheinlich das schlimmste Reaction Video auf dieses Lied, das ich je gesehen habe. Dummheit und Unwissenheit treffen aufeinander

That s the Problem, when ever you hear German in a Hollywood movie or a TV Show it was the anry or yelling sound of German. Witch imhO was done by purpose esp in the US. You need a bad guy to bee the good one. And of cause the song it s about love your country and in the same time hate historical things. But in the US the bad things ended with slavery not mention the genucid of the native american cause History started with Columbus ignoring the 10tsd years before. Sorry not ment rude but i never read por listen to Things like the Concentration camp in the US starting in WWII still not even ended today with Guantanamo. So i think "Deutschland" not only is a cinematic Highlight it s a historical too. But hey i m German and i know my historie so my point of view might be total different. And don t forget Historie alwas writen by the winner.

No, I agree! It's very interesting to me how history is "told by the winners". And yeah.. your opinion as a German means a heck of a lot more than us two Americans. We just reacted to the song itself, with a hint of the symbolism that goes on in the video. You folks have existed in some form since ancient times... and we can't even begin to understand your history. That's why we didn't go too deep into it.

In any case, listen to the original with the subtitles in English. And, you know German? I would be surprised. Since, you say you don't know what the song is about, but you understand German? This is one of the best videos from Rammstein and at the same time one of the most difficult content to fully understand. The song is about Germany (Deutschland) and the band's feelings about their home country which has a rather violent history (not only in WW2). It is a kaleidoscope of scenes from 2000 years of German history (some more symbolic, others painfully accurate) and additionally some scenes that might happen in the future when archaeologists are searching for artefacts of German history. The woman is Germania, played by the German actress Ruby Commey. Germania is not a literal person, but was a personification of Germany for centuries. All other main roles are played by the six members of Rammstein. The scene when the monks seem to eat Germania references to the Thirty Year's War (1618-1648), which started as a religious war. As a result of that war - masses of people starved or died by plagues. And the church took what little they had left to live on. This production needs definetely more attention than just a quick reaction without lyrics and a bit of research. You got the idea what the song is about but not the message from the band. One of the most important line you missed: „Germany, my love I can‘t give you.“ Thats why the video is packed with the negative aspects of German history. Rammstein is not afraid to show the ugly side to get your attention by shocking. I recommend giving it a second chance. If you don’t like it you don’t like it. Thats fine. But maybe you just missed the real message behind the imagery. For me Deutschland is one of the most amazing productions in music industry.

You really got to get the lyrics for Rammstein songs. They are usually deep. This song is about the love hate relationship You have with Your homecountry and its history. Something Americans can probably relate to. The black woman is Germania, the personification of Germany going through different scenes in history... Romans, crusaders to leftwing terrorism and into the future. But to get to know Rammstein, You gotta see them live. Start with "Du Hast live in Paris", there You get an idea, a little bit of everything, crowd, fireworks, show. 🤓 Then You can move on f.i. to "Mein Teil live at Hurricane" 😱 If You should do "Mein Teil", please investigate the story behind the song beforehand to better understand what is going on. And know that Till Lindemann is also a certified pyrotechnician. 🔥🔥🔥 Or go really scary with the official video of "Mein Herz brennt Piano version" (all wounds are real)

Try to learn more about the history of Germany and you will understand that what you see is not about Nazism, because there is the East German part of the Socialist side, the notorious "red army faction" etc.. I recommend you "Zite" from Rammstein !!!!!

Okay, this is a reactions video and reaction is a very personal thing. But if you want to understand the meaning of the song, this is the wrong reaction video, maybe the worst. Allmost every "clue" is wrong. Even the translation attemp of "du has(s)t" To understand the song you may better look at the reaction ot history buff or HeartSupport. Look for a video with accurat lyric translation and read the comments e.g. at the charismatic voice. As mentioned, this of course is a reation video and no analysis and for this its fine ❤

How to pronounce it? Easy! If Rammstein was spelt RammstEEn then you pronounce it that way but it’s not. It’s spelt RammstEIn like Albert Einstein. Don’t know why so many have issues with it. Basic English. Also why did you cut off the credits? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well, you tried I suppose, it’s your lack of history that surprised me on this, I’m sorry but imo and many other Rammstein fans I’m sure this is a work of art a masterpiece, I mean Germany is a lot more then ww2 and other countries if making a video would also have some explaining to do, while I appreciate you reacting to Rammstein, I think maybe you need to do a little research before hand, not only improving your enjoyment but ours too, Rammstein are not for everyone, but putting out a half arsed reaction is a no go for me, also never cut the ending to a Rammstein song/video, there you I’ll maybe learn something, this by far was one of the worse Rammstein reactions I’ve seen to this song, sorry, but maybe buy some history books, you never know American might be in it, thanks 🙏

Interesting. So the reason we cut off the song is because it was a piano version of the song Sonne. And I only wanted to react to Deutschland... because well.. that's the deal. If I wanted to react to Deutschland/Sonne and THEN I cut off the credits, then that's a different story. As far as history goes, we aren't a history channel. We are a music channel. Plain and simple. I appreciate all of your thoughts on the matter. Suggesting that I buy a history book when I said from the get-go that Germania... was being attacked by the Romans at the beginning of the video...that I mentioned. How is that I knew all of the symbolism in the video (minus a couple of things)? This doesn't make your claim that I need to "buy a book" look very smart. Also, is English your first language? Because... that's a heck of a run on sentence you have going on there.

I am an American of German descent and I can tell you about 80 percent of the USA wouldn't claim them. However, thinking Nazi whenever dude hears the language is without a doubt one of the dumbest fucking excuses I've ever heard. Doesn't make sense. That's like saying every man I see that is overweight, beta with colored hair is a virtue signaling, queer loving Marxist/Communist.
