Great show! And I enjoyed your statement saying that De Kooning is no Louise Fishman. Thanks Kate!

Another gnarly branch of the vast American oak that is AbEx... It's hard to see with fresh eyes, but your very considered review of her show is a big help. Thanks James, and Kate.

I enjoyed very much seeing this. Her work intrigues me, and I think you're right that she seemed to have her own "definition" of abstraction. Perhaps it was just me, but her later pieces seemed to breathe more. Perhaps it was the level of blank space she allowed to exist in them. Thank you Kate!

The brief description of the car scene whilst on Zoom conjured a sense of the vague boundaries between insider and outsider artist.

Some of her pieces affect me in a similar way to Rothko's work .There is something quiet and subdued, yet possessing depth and a kind of power, about her work. I'm attracted to these pieces. I want to spend time with them.
