Currently studying overseas and only now I truly realised how special Malaysia is to me. The people, food and environment is what I grew up with, and being somewhere completely different will never hit the same as home. Esp the people, the vibe is just diff.

Beautiful. I'm a Malaysian born overseas and I spent my whole life there. Even though I was born overseas, it never felt like home. Finally, in my 30s, I moved to Malaysia with my family. So far, no regrets. There's nowhere like Malaysia.

THIS SPOKE FOR ME. I used to want to migrate overseas and travel the world. So, I did travel the world, I lived overseas for studying. At the start of my life overseas (in a first world country to boot), I genuinely felt like "Yeah, this is it!" But just like the message in the video here, my heart just... changed over time. Other Malaysians who had not gone through the experience just don't get it when they asked me "if I wanted to migrate overseas after my studies" and my response was "No, I wanna continue to live here, grow here, die here", they were surprised (some were even disappointed as if I wasn't ambitious enough) and were weirded out. Honestly, I surprised myself as well when I had the sudden change of heart. But it just felt so right to come back and reconnect with my home, my heritage, my people, and serve the country in any way I can. As someone who has travelled to many countries; west, east, middle east, down under, I'm going to tell you that Malaysian Hospitality and multi-culturalism is like no where else in the world (besides having one of the best food in the world of course 😂). When I flew back home with Malaysian Airlines after finishing my studies, it was the moment the pilot (who is Malaysian) spoke through the PA upon touchdown "To our fellow Malaysians, welcome home", I teared up. I'm home for good, Malaysia ❤

True, even on short trip overseas, the phrase "Kepada semua warga Malaysia, selamat pulang ke tanah air" always makes me smile, be it Air Asia or MAS that says it.

Almost cried watching this, truly brilliant work you guys ! As someone who lived in Japan for 5 years and thought that they would leave Malaysia and live overseas for the foreseeable future, you truly only start to appreciate your home country once you've left. Just like the girl in the video I've decided to go back to Malaysia, and while it may not be perfect, it will forever be my home, and I will try my best to let the world know about Malaysia ! Happy Merdeka Day and Malaysia day Malaysia, Malaysia boleh ! 🇲🇾

I have been to different country to work for a short period. I went to Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia, but I still love to stay in Malaysia. Many friends and relative asked me to go overseas to earn x3 to x6 salary of my current salary, but I still stay here regardless of the salary and I believed that if I keep learn and upgrade myself I can get more than what I can earn at foreign country.

Great vid! Just one gentle reminder and hope you (and fellow Malaysians) don't mind: I'm Malaysian, born and bred in KL, and with all respect, Msians are obsessed with food to the point of detrimental to health. 19% of Malaysians are diabetic, that's the highest in SEA and among the highest in the world (#17; in the top 10 globally if not taking into account the small Pacific Ocean island nations).. Suggest to adjust the diet accordingly, and health is life's greatest wealth.. And btw, Happy Merdeka!

Thank you so much for the video Jinnyboy. It is a good message. Really, appreciate every moment that passes and the beauty we surround with. After all, we truly have to realize that there is no place like home(: maybe sometimes we thought we want to be stuck overseas. Yet really, the grass isn't always greener on the other side ☺ Malaysia is a home and paradise. Selamat hari merdeka everybody!

Malaysia is always known for its beautiful forest/beaches and food options. Malaysians are also normally friendly to tourists. But as a Malaysian borned and raised here, I have been hoping and striving for growth and progress. It is so disheartening that we take one step forward only to find ourselves 2 steps back. Instead of trying to find ways to work harder to get a better life, many are waiting for 'better' policies/handouts to 'help' make their lives better. People who actually work hard get taken advantage of to the point of oppression, whilst those who sit back and wait continues to be taken care of. I agree that Malaysians should help and support the less fortunate, but not at the expense of those who really truly strive to make the country a more progressive and developed nation. On this national day, there is little joy or reasons to celebrate. If only we are enlightened to see the precarious situation our nation is in.

PLEASE HEAR ME OUT!!! Jinnyboy or anyone watching this video, I am still searching for a particular video from Jinnyboy or a different channel featuring one of the actors from Jinnyboy. The video is about a guy who travels to China or Hong Kong, meets a girl on the street, and finds out that her slippers are broken. He goes to the market and buys new slippers for her, and they exchange social media or phone numbers. When the guy returns to his country and tries to add the girl he met overseas on social media, he realizes that she is a model and the video ends with a smile (I am not referring to HOMEBOUND). It is something similar before Homebound was released. I remember watching the video around 2014-2015 or 2016 and I cannot find that video! Your help will be much appreciated!!!!
