I agree with @thunderstorm that not all aerials need to be shots. People need to open their mind up more to the idea of passing plays, it is a team game after all. Does that mean that the aerials that the original comment was referring to are passes? No. They probably weren’t. But there is obviously a barrier in communication and it is difficult to tell the intentions of your teammates, so just stop finding faults and start finding opportunities. Some of my favorite games are the ones where I don’t constantly second guess my teammates and instead just go for what is available, and usually that is a better way of adapting to a new kind of playstyle than to insist that everyone plays in a way that makes sense to you.

In my experience I've realised that most RL players are not into soccer/football at all and dont understand that you need a goalie as much as a striker... and that you cant have 2 men on the ball.. and so on.. Yes its like he anyway got to champion in the long term. Its just that in some games your teamates can be so unbelivebly terrible, that you have no chance to win matter how good you are and then after regonizing your teamates are terrible. You start playing the passive gameplay tactic of defending goal all time, until you get counter attack and so you can push to try score, but them your teamates are even more annoying, when they as terrible players copy the same tactic, when they should be better and not copy you, if you are better, than them, when it just increase your loosing chance, so its sad how terrible mechanics and terrible brains they literally got. Its that maybe some players never improve in mechanics, when their brains are just so terrible, while some players got very good rotation, but bad mechanics, when got big brains, but still not put enough hours into the game to become better with mechanics, but thats why they so high rank early, because simpy their brain rotation, while lack the mechanics that they will get over time, but these certain players got way too small iq and so I dont think theit mechanics ever improve, when its just so stupid and mindless rotation from them. If you better, than the average player in the lobby. Overall in the long term of playing you should improve your rank, while some games your teamates can be so terrible and opponents so good that you got no chance to win the game, but its okay, when you still get mechanical experience anyway from the game, so to next games you have better mechanics and larger chance to rise up rank, but Rocket League is just playing a lot games and, if you better, than average you should rank up, but you will not always, when sometimes its simply being unlucky, but the game has the same chances for making you great teamates and make the opponets have terrible mindless players, that got terrible mechanics and terrible brains to play the game.

I'm GC1 and I've been smurfing in plat since I was probably C1-C2 because that's where I practice my mechanics. Me and my doubles partner ff and give wins to everyone who stays to play against us. I'm much more of a mental/rotation-minded player and not mechanical whatsoever for my rank, so it helps me to put mechanics to the test that I practice in training because if I can land it on plats, then I'm ready to try it against GCs. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with it. I can practice against real people and get better in the process, and they get a free win. And if someone goes afk or leaves the match, we instantly ff to give the other person the dub. Plat has got to be the most toxic rank there is (champ 2 is a *close* 2nd) and I honestly just don't feel bad for them because it's so easy to get out of it once you learn to pass the ball and watch enemy cars. If you disagree or hate me, please respond telling me why.

In my experience as a plat. The games are interesting as you get games where your teammates are not bad and games where you get teammates like wayton's. Half my games I wonder how my teammates can't even hit the ball while the other half I can't get my teammates to stop hitting the ball. I do however think I am not stuck in plat. I was stuck in platinum for like a year. Would consistently get to plat 3 and get stuck. The way I got out of it was (1) training enough to be consistent with open shots from different angles and (2) learning to hit or clear the ball off the wall. I don’t mean shooting the wall hits into the net either; I mean hitting them just enough to either stop/slow a drive from the opponent, or to help push a clear from a tm8 further out. Good luck!

@@christiantaylor1495 Yeah, basic mechanics. As in, learn how to control the ball, and hit the ball *how* you want and *where* you want. Basic aerials involving getting to the ball fast and putting it where you want it. Plus learning how to move aorund the field effeiciently (recovers, wave dash, etc.) NOT mechanics in the sense most people mean, i.e. double taps, resets, ceiling shots, flicks, air roll, etc. Mechanics are absolutely a priority, but once you feel confident in your basic control of the ball, it's 90% game sense and decision making that will get you up to champ.

There’s one thing missing in these plat vids: The fact that you’re always being challenged at this level. Even if it’s not a smart time for your opponent to challenge, they do anyway, which results in a 50/50 or them hitting your car. Makes it very difficult to get good, intentional touches. This constant pressure makes it really tough to pass or control the ball, so basically everyone booms the ball away when they get the chance. Often goals are a result of the ball ping-ponging around the net until someone knocks it in.

I am an older guy who started playing for my son (he no longer plays, but I am addicted). Therefore (being older) I have no friends who play regularly and have to depend on random teammates. If I push up, they let the other team score. If I hang back, they ball chase in random corners (with no scoring). Super frustrating. I want to get better and rank up. But there is no help being a solo player.

Two or three seasons ago I decided to take Ranked a little more seriously and started a bit of a grind to move beyond plat. I had been watching Lethamyr, CBell, and Sunless a lot and had picked up on many things concerning smart Rocket League as opposed to mechanical RL. Spent a whole evening queuing twos, just to end up only a division above where I started, practically in tears, saying "God almighty, you know I don't belong with these people, this is terrible". Ended up getting to champ a week later. Many streamers and KZbinrs love to say it's not about teammates, but it really can be, plus having a bad day is killer.

I have made an experiment where I played on a brand new account 10 placements and in 4 of the games I was against a party/team of smurfs, or my team mates did not simply "have a brain" quoting Wayton. They go for challenges, aerials, boost!! without thinking of the consequences, tunnel visioning on showing off their mechanics or just ballchasing like its freeplay. It is very rare to find a team mate who actually understands the basics of the game! Once you get them on the team though, it is instantly noticable and even lost games but with a good team feel good, as we feel like we performed well but still can look at what to improve on. Whereas in an unfair matchup that is impossible due to the variables.

Have about 300 hours on the game. Started in 3's and got stuck in low plat, that's when I migrated to 2s and found that mitigating 1 bad team mates mistakes was much easier than 2. I found myself then rotating much better around the play because I was mega aware of my team mate and their positioning. After struggling for about a week getting used to 2s play style I started blasting through plat and made it to Diamond where the speed killed me a little. Rotations weren't enough, my decision making needed to be faster. This only comes with time. So I Played for a few more weeks climbing through Diamond and eventually to C2. My decision making now is no longer the issue, my mechanics and my ability to be consistent is. Each rank comes with a new challenge. To rank up you need to identify the challenge and work on it in your games all the time. I've now returned to 3s and found myself ranking up easily through Diamond and just popped through the C1. For someone who never plays games on controller and is usually KBM I've gotta say I'm surprised at my own progress and if I can do it y'all can too.

THIS VIDEO EXACTLY, Plat 1 here struggling to get out and this video summarizes it perfectly. You can play everything seemingly perfectly (positioning wise not mechanic wise i'm not gonna pretend I can triple reset) and STILL lose because of bad teammates. As a soloq'er, It really feels like a roll of the dice for teammates whether you win or not. My hypothesis is that it's this way because Plat is the "base" rank everyone starts in, at 600mmr. After my first 10 placement games I calibrated as a Plat 1 and then lost games all the way down to gold 2. I lost these games because I was simply new, bad and threw. Afterwards I got better, learning about positioning and improving my mechanics. I developed a brain to claw my way back to platinum. Herein lies the problem as your teammates could either be learned players who climbed their way out of lower ranks or complete newbies who're actually worse than bots (yea Smurfs exist too but they won't be as common as the prior 2 groups). Because of this, it honestly feels like you need to either be extremely lucky to get out of plat or ascended enough to 1v5 the lobby and win.

I think you're right with your assessment that Plat is the worst rank, and the fact that these sorts of games are possible just proves it. In Plat you get a wide disparity of players, from Champ smurfs to Golds who happened to get carried for a bit, so sometimes I'm in a match and I can't help but think I'd have an easier time if my teammates just went AFK, because then at least they wouldn't bump me in goal.

Even though diamond is the middle of all ranks, platinum is what I would consider the "interim period" Players start developing their own styles of play, whether to focus more on mechanics or strategy. 6:31 yes, you can. I was stuck in plat 3 for forever then when i finally got out of plat I immediately got up to diamond 2. A couple of things: 1) Your opinion about ranking up is a bit distorted because you're on a new account with a high sigma value, which means you will rank up very quickly when winstreaking. For 'normal' plats, it takes a lot more wins because their sigma value is already settled. 2) Yes, if you are patient and position well, you will eventually get out of plat. 3) However, you must be willing to play passively and defensively. Most of the time this is pretty boring and not very fun. You're sacrificing fun gameplay for purely winning. Not to mention you need a high tolerance level for dumb teammates. When solo queing, you need to be quite a bit better than the rank you are currently at (either mechanically or positionally) to actually grind out of it, just because of teammates who are actually stuck at that rank.

I’m gc but I play most of my games in Diamond-low champ with my friends just to have fun im done grinding rank and one thing I can say is almost every other game in this elo has a Smurf or multiple ever since free to play came out. This makes the game almost impossible to win for people actually in this elo. It is a big problem that can be very frustrating to play and rank up against causing people to get stuck longer than normal. Also on a fresh account you gain like 4x the elo so going from plat to champ isn’t so hard. It would take about 33 straight wins to get from low plat to Champ with proper mmr which is unreasonable unless you are well above the average rank for the games you are playing. Getting to higher ranks requires many many hours of grinding and practicing mechanics. There is no shortcut. Even playing with no mechanics the amount of game knowledge you have is many thousands of games above that of an average plat. The best way to rank up is to enjoy the game and play the game to get better. If you notice you are lacking mechanics then go into free play before every session for 30 min or an hour. Watch pro players streams for positioning tips. To get to a higher rank you have to want to get better not want to rank up. Ranking up comes with getting better. Always blame yourself for your loss. I don’t know what I’m ranting about I smoked a bowl and just started typing. Anyways have a fantastic day if anyone made it this far (:

This is honestly why I got stuck in plat for like 2 months,I got a friend on discord to help me get to D1 and from there I went back to solo queues and after about a week I was in champ,being stuck in plat is one of the worst things in the game because no matter how good you are or how well you play if your teammates suck or if you get decent opponents and a bad teammate then you can be stuck in plat your entire time playing even if you’re really supposed to be like a D3 or champ 2

Bro I cannot even turn my rage into words this literally happens every game for me and I’m diamond 3. It’s so annoying. Thanks for finally recognising our pain

As a c2 who was in diamond 2 months ago, you are wrong my tm8s were just fine. One thing that helped me rank up was to keep possession in my corner instead of sending it away.
@sorleypetrie88852 жыл бұрын
My friend, my ways have changed. I’m now also c2 and have no problems with my tm8s as well. Although back then I did have problems. But they are in the past

I feel you man. I'm in platinum and it is just so painful having bad teammates and constantly losing

i have an idea, if u get a lucky game with a good teammate, partY up with them! or if u have cracked freinds, and cuz of that plat 3 was too ez, just breezed through it
@Amarachi-w7x3 ай бұрын
@@ZythermappingZ Theres a problem What if they dont party up or if You do one bad Round with that teammate they will leave the party And what if he doesnt have any friends Like me I literally had To suck it up and Deal to get from plat 3 to Diamond 3

The first example of playing in a full lobby of plats really proves how easy it is to lose in lower ranks, because you are expecting completely different things from everyone: your tm8s positioning, the opponents, positioning, consistency, everything. I experience this all the time and the whole lobby will call you trash when you are in gc on your main. Like no plat, you are not better than him nor is he lying about his main rank, you and the rest of your plats are so terrible that its hard to compensate for how bad you are and stoop to your level of play

Thank you. I'm one of many plats that are stuck because of bad teammates. It is finally revealed to everyone that plats games can be very... strange.

That was the most dramatic match I've ever seen.

One of the hardest parts about getting out of Plat is that no one wants to play as a team. Everyone wants to hit the ball, sometimes even when it will result in a bad play. How many times you can center and no one is there to take a shot.

25% of plats got stuck in this rank cause of their teammates and 75% are people who dont rotate and make others stuck in this rank. The apology should be ONLY for those 25%
@yzonrs1232 жыл бұрын
As a low GC who used to boost a lot from from bronze/gold - champ I found mechanics are the single most important thing to carry. If I'm way faster than all the plat 2's I just ball chase and I found it far more effective than rotating and focusing on positioning like I would on my main.

My brother and I got platinum as our first ever ranks and we were so proud at first, only to then find out that literally no one likes plat players for some reason, the pain we felt was immeasurable

Solo queuing comp 3s is a nightmare for me. The game with teammates that did nothing is literally my life. Or the scenario where 1 or both teammates decide to quit within the first minute

Im plat 3 and I actually CAN speed flip and half flip but I’m stuck. Teammates leave, suck and there’s nothing I can do about it. I’m told to blame myself and get better but I can’t win even with the large amount of time I’ve practiced and gotten better. Wish me luck on getting diamond1. Love your vids wayton ❤️

I'm between plat and diamond. I feel you. I feel like half the games I play, I'm playing a 1v4/1v3. Like high plat and kids just don't know how to hit a simple ball...Or are riding your ass so even if you pass, no one is there because for some reason they're right behind you.

As a fellow Plat 2, this is confirmed. Wayton, I always have bad teammates and have to deal with them. I have been stuck in play for over 2 years now! This is because my teammates. They don’t even know how to hit the ball. Honestly I believe they were boosted to plat. If I had good teammates, I would be at least Diamond.

i think the way to get out of these ranks is to start playing with mates in a call
@afeinchur_5644 ай бұрын
I still think many of us plats are plats cuz we’re not aiming at high rank, and if we play lot of useless mecas it’s because mecs are the reason we love rl. Plat is the rank you get if you’re doing lot of mechanics with 20% consistency and no willing to grind higher

The part where you said that its me against my tm, thats exactly how i feel. I am currently a platinum and i keep deranking to gold and than to almost diamond again, ranking up is pretty hard when ur in plat. Im trying to hit diamond, and i would be incredibly happy if i made it
@clowdyathv1916 Жыл бұрын
I am a platinum 1 and I agree with this video's conclusion. I used to be in D2, but ever since my teammate left me, its been all down hill with randoms. And no, my not random tm8 didnt carry me, we 1v1ed as a part of our warmup and I beat him almost every time. We both did deserve our rank, but he quit to move onto an fps game. I hate platinum, and its official. I started to main 1's since it doesnt depend on tm8's skill as much.
@imaginefr Жыл бұрын
This is very true when I was play with 60 hours I lacked a lot of game sense but I started learning rotations and was saving most of the shots and my tm8 would attak without overcommitting this made me speedrun through play with a win streak of 8 to daimond 1 :)

so happy im not a platinum anymore because i feel like as soon as you enter diamond all of your teammates just magically become better

It’s hard to rank up bc ur trying ur hardest to actually rank up but your teammates always pull u down bc they don’t really care to learn the basics so it’s almost 2v1 or 3v1

Dude getting stuck in plat is a bizarre experience. I’ve been solo queuing twos for a while and got to plat and flip flopped between plat 2 and plat 3. Started playing with a buddy who was in the same experience and both immediately cruised into Diamond and are making our way back up. Absolutely bloody bizarre
