The hairspray scene had me in stitches...as well as the side commentary (at 4:10) by Carson(?) "From The Front Seat" - Loved "the sign jumped out of nowhere!" bit...Hilarious! But I'm super glad it turned out to not be a big deal. This is truly an epic trip!

@@KeepYourDaydream I have been making videos since I was 11 (60 years ago). Long ago I became accustomed to being the weird nerdy kid who always had a movie camera with him (since 1959). I have often been mildly ridiculed by my peer group and friends. Seven years ago my best friend's mom (the neighborhood matriarch) had a 90th birthday party. All the neighborhood kids (my high school buddies) came into town for her big celebration. We drove from Georgia to Long Beach, CA just for the occasion (after 2 previous trips to the west coast that year). Naturally, I made a movie to commemorate the occasion and easily cast aside the rolling eyes and looks from those who are not so inclined. Last week, one of the more popular kids (now 71) died. Marie, now 97 is still going strong :-) Some of my friends who contacted me to give me the news all now said how grateful they suddenly were that they had this keepsake of our time with him (I had made Blu Rays for everyone). Videos inspire, entertain and chronicle the passing of time.

A lesson learned. When you see or feel that a great shot / moment is presented. Take the extra time and capture it. The time invested to capture the shot that in the end, will pay you back not only in the memory captured but might also become the epic shot of the day.

This reminds me of our "Mishap!" last March doing the "North Coast 500" in Scotland (Worth doing if you are ever here). First, we dropped off the tarmac into the soft ground up to the front axle and had to wait 14 hours for a tow out. Next, another campervan crossed onto our side of the road and ripped both our wing mirror off and there's as well. Finally, the rear bumper (fender) came loose and luckily someone managed to fix that back for us. This little lot cost me my security deposit. OH! and to top it off I caught an E-coli infection that took three and a half months of antibiotics to clear up. The joys of RVing.

We love ya'll's videos and blog! I grew up RV'ing with my parents (not full time but lots of road trips) and the most memorable trips were the ones that had 'awry' moments! Side note: the Winnebago Class C RV that I grew up traveling in, is still being driven around by my dad with the same motor - 35+ years later (they don't make them like they used to)!!

I can so appreciate your mishap with mirror and window. Years ago I was driving in New Zealand with my co-pilot (wife) constantly telling me I am too close to side of road. Being a man, I kept replying I am fine and guess what, a drivers side mirror is laying along the New Zealand roadway. Man those poles on side of road are close to driving lane. I did find the trashed mirror and it did not ruin our travels. And I learned to hug the center line of the road. Memories!!

Brings back memories of our RV rental in Italy 2 years ago. Had a very similar rig to yours in NZ. I was trying to back in down a hill that I should not have to get water in our tank. Started sliding so I cut the wheel to put it against the hillside. Long story short we got back out of there but ripped off the rear bumper in the process! In the end we had to pay or $1000.00 deductible. Could have been worse!! We all make mistakes/bad choices once in a while. No big deal, everyone is alive and safe!! Have fun!
