Rather than buying lots of makeup, better invest in best ones. Beginners mistake: buying matte foundation (you'll have a hard time applying because they tend to set quicker and get cakey easier); buying colorful eyeshadow (you won't use 90% of the pallette); buying gel eyeliner (it will dry before you used 1/4 of it); buying matte lipstick (if you're beginner you better avoid it, recommended color for your first lipstick is the color of your gum, same for blush on), buying eyebrow pencil the same shade as your hair (go for one shade lighter). Invest in: sunscreen (never skip it). Always blend your makeup (brush your eyebrow after you filled in too), but you don't have to blend the powder just light tap it on your face. This is because beginners usually don't know how to apply smoothly, you don't want to looks like a caricature. Edit: just wanna say that I'm happy to discuss makeup with you guys 😊💞 also, makeup is there to enhance our natural beauty and it's for fun, you don't have to be stressed out finding the "perfect" makeup. It's totally okay to do the opposite of what I said and experiment more if that's the look you're aiming for and make you happy!

I agree, but for me, I prefer fuller brows. So, I use the same exact shade as my hair. It’s easier to use less brow product than more. If I use a light shade, it takes forever to fill in my brows, and I have to use more product too.

As someone who has been wearing makeup for 9 years now and was the person that people went to for beauty advice in school, YES. I agree with pretty much everything said in this video. I wish I had this video when I first started when I was younger, so I didn't have to watch countless videos just to get one tip that is actually decent. I'm glad that makeup newbies watching this video won't have to pore over the internet for hours, searching for product recommendations. Not only that, but you also gave high and low-end suggestions! TBH, the recommended products in the video are classics in the beauty community and while still good, there are products out there with better formulations and ingredients. But this video is great!

The one tip I could give to new make up junkies outta there is to.. Match your make up kit to your way of life and how you would usually want to look everyday!! This is my mistake. IF you are a lazy bum or has a busy schedule that make up is easily forgotten, focus on products that lets you be quick and be done with make up.. Like tinted moisturizers, concealers with doe foot applicator (the same applicator as lip gloss), cream blush, lip tint, simple mascara, simple setting powder.. IF you have all the time of the world, want to make a statement each day, wants flawless look or is willing to put on effort on doing make up.. Then you can dive into full fave foundations, eyeshadow pallettes, powder blush and contours, baking powder, liquid eyeliner.. Any make up that tends to be friendly to editorial looks, drag looks etc

Gel eyeliner is waste of money if you're not used to it so just use your eyebrow pencil to draw your eyeliner. You can also use your eyebrow pencil for contouring.

i really like buying and using makeup, but i try to keep my selection of products small and simple. you’d be surprised at how little you need. it’s tempting to buy every product you like the look of, especially when you see people with those massive makeup collections.. but trust me, its WAY more cost-effective to only buy things when u need them or when you run out of things. makeup has expiry dates and if you have too many products, you won’t be able to use all of them while they’re still nice. i’m really happy with my selection because it covers everything i need while not being huge. this is what i recommend. *eyeshadows* i have one WARM neutrals palette which consists of tan, chesnut, orangey-red and rich brown shades. then i have one COOL neutrals palette which has taupe, grey and muted brown shades. finally i have one colourful palette, it has 16 rainbow shades and is perfect for when i want a to have bit of fun. *other eye products* i own one eyebrow pencil with a little spoolie on the end, one dark brown eyeliner and one mascara. that’s honestly all i need. *face products* one cushion foundation, one cream concealer, and one translucent setting powder. i don’t use primer because good skincare prep will do the same job. i don’t own any highlighters as each of my eyeshadow palettes contains a few shimmer shades which work as highlighters. i also don’t own any blushes, you’ll see why when i explain my lip products. *lip products* for natural glowy looks, i own a few tinted lip balms - two stick balms which have a slight dewy finish, and two ones in squeeze tubes which are super glossy. for matte lips, i have two matte blurring lip tints. one vibrant coral red for warm toned looks, and one rosy mauve for cool toned looks. these also leave a lasting stain, which is nice. the final lip products i own work perfectly as blushes - two soft matte liquid lipsticks, in a natural peachy rose and in a fresh pure pink. i don’t end up using the soft matte liquid lipsticks as lipsticks as the shades are a little too light for my lips. so, instead of wasting them, i repurposed them as blushes and they work nicely. the trick is to blend them out with my concealer. okayyy well that’s all lol, i hope someone reads this and find it helpful

@@kochenko3 my eyeshadow palettes are from various different brands, such as rimmel and nyx. i tend not to go for korean beauty brands when buying eyeshadow as i find western brands have more pigment and a wider variety of shades. my eyebrow pencil is the slim version of the drawing eyebrow pencil from etude house, and my eyeliner is the bbia lasting gel pencil. my mascara is from maybelline. my concealer and powder are both from the fit me line by maybelline and the the cream highlighter is also from maybelline. for lip balms, i use burts bees tinted lip balms which are relatively solid in consistency in stick format. they’re made with beeswax and other natural, nice ingredients and dont have strong scents, which i appreciate. the glossy ones are from dr lipp. this brand also has really natural ingredients, in a very simple lanolin based formula. the dr lipp ones are especially good, their consistency is lovely, super thick and moisturising and i cannot recommend them enough! the water lip tint is from the body shop, and seems to be very similar to the etude dear darling water tint in terms of formula. my matte blurring lip tints are the blur water tint by 3ce and the water blurring fixing tint by wakemake. the soft matte liquid lipsticks are from nyx. as you can see, there’s a mix kbeauty products and western products in my collection. i find that each respective industry has different strengths in particular types of products. hope this helped! :)

I first did makeup when i was 10, and learned mostly from kbeauty. I still prefer douyin/kbeauty styles because i love how soft it looks. I've seen some hidden tips for makeup and apparently i did some of those when i was younger. I then stopped when COVID started and now i'm getting back into makeup! My #1 tip however is to take it slow when figuring out what suits you. Especially for teens, start with cheaper brands (such as Essence!) I still get confused and rushed on what i should use and learn first but i suggested figuring out your face shape, skin type, and skin tone first then look through different kinds of looks and do some research on how to achieve that with the knowledge on what kind of shades and products suit you! Mixing techniques from different styles is cool too, especially if a certain style doesn't compliment you completely (i say this while not really doing this LMAO jk i do this but more unconciously) Edit: OH and to my fellow teens, you don't always have to do a full look. Just some blemish covering and color (like blush and lip gloss) is already a good start :)

My favourite makeup product is powder foundation. If you have any sort of skincare routine - which has absolutely become mainstream these days - you can just dust some powder foundation all over your face while your moisturizer is still a bit wet. Your skincare acts as a primer, especially if it has SPF! Sometimes, I put on concealer before the powder. This is perfect for a "no-makeup" or super fast look. From there, all I do is put on a bit of light-handed eyeliner and blush, maybe add a small touch of eyeshadow, and finish with lip balm. That makeup look, including the skincare, can all come together in about five minutes! The only makeup that I use regularly is my moisturizer with SPF, concealer, powder foundation, lip balm, eye liner, blush (which I only started adding recently), and sometimes nude eyeshadow. Everything else is for special occasions. My first ever "makeup kit" was a soft pink eyeshadow palette and a tube of clear mascara. I BEGGED my mom to let me wear makeup when I was in grade school, and that's what she picked out for me. I still have the eyeshadow almost 20 years later! ❤Then, when I started "for real", I used dollar store products. Maybe not the safest, but it was a fun way to experiment in my teens. I finally graduated to department store makeup, and eventually drugstore makeup. And every once in a while, I'll take a peek at makeup stores to see if they have a house brand or a nice sale. But when you're starting out, you don't need to spend much money at all!

That's all I use on most days and I think it's a good little kit for beginners (i am certainly NOT a beginner). Primer is always a luxury and not necessary in my opinion, especially if you have a good skincare routine. Loose powder is also terrible for beginners because it gets everywhere and in the wrong hands (ie. beginner hands) ends up looking cakey. I feel like contouring and highlighting is also not a necessity for a beginner, just start with the basics first, then get into more intermediate to advanced techniques.

my tips: your eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick/lipcream/liptint need to be color coordinate or else it would look messy for eyeshadow, just buy quad or 6-shade eyeshadow because at least it's guaranteed you will use all of the shades. also sometime wear base color + some glitter/shimmer is already more than enough for blush: depending on your preference, skintone, and undertone. you can match it to the eyeshadow or lips. if you can use your lip product to become your blush, it's a safer choice since your cheek and lips will be (kinda) in the same color. it won't look out of place for lips: depending on your preference, skintone, and undertone. just remember that your lips will affect the color of the lips product itself so don't be disappointed if the color is different. it happens a lot. but personally, red or nude color is much a safer choice rather than brown, pink, coral, orange, or mauve. you can also wear those color without makeup but remember not all red is warm tone and sometimes nude color will make you look sick

I really love this video and its format, its easy to understand and you arent throwing random makeup terminology in my face that ive never heard of, but i wish you could help us understand what types of makeup to pick, for example if you are going for such and such of a look, or your skin type is a certain way, then you should pick a certain foundation formula. i still don't understand what foundation i should pick😭

I like to use Elf glo Sunscreen. But you can all foundation to any sunscreen or buy tinted sunscreen that's is easy breezy. The Elf grip primer works really well. You don't need much to look polished. ColourPop blush in stick... Essence Mascara and a nice Eyebrow pencil for brows. Brown liner is for everyday. Gloss or lip tint. I use a nice powder and Elf setting spray. You can use ColourPop eyeshadow single color for center of eyelid. Great video 🍃🌸

I'd like to do makeup, but I hate having foundation on my face. Even compact powder. But I love the other stuff. I had eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick. Those are the only thing I'm comfortable with

Always consider your skin type, skin tone, and undertones (don't forget if your skin is sensitive as well). Sometimes, we are overwhelmed by a lot of products offered in stores and online. Every thing depends on your skin and preferences.

I love this video!!!! I purchased a lot of items recommended from here and im really excited to try them out. Are you considering making a video about the different makeup brushes? that would also be super helpful too, i've never worn makeup before and I have no idea what brushes to get.

15:06 I'm confused by this, if the contour blush is applied in the dotted space, then does actual contour get applied in the dark semi-circle below? Or is brightening blush applied in the dotted lines and contour blush applied in the dark semi-circle?
@ulamme2 жыл бұрын
for the diamond shape i think the contouring blush is place high on the cheekbones in the dotted space, to soften the angular appearance, while the actual contour is softly blended below.

I started the video but what seemed to be an ad for adobe played. Like a normal person, I let it end but it didn't do anything once it ended. It just showed that it was the end of the video. I stood looking at the screen for 10 seconds until I looked at the comments to see if it was just a troll video or something. All the comments are comments you would see on a makeup video. So I thought: maybe the comments are trolling me too. No. I reloaded my page and was given the video I was expecting in the first place. Minutes later, I still can't tell if I'm an idiot or if my computer made me seem like one.

Hi dear peachie, Can you do videos on how moles on the face can enhance facial features? For example, faaaarii and IU both have moles on their cheeks that make their cheeks look plumper. Wonyoung's mole also accentuates her looks. I'm very curious about how moles can change or manipulate one's features.

question, are these products light? What I mean by light is, good for most skin types? I have sensitive skin which is why I'm having a hard time finding good products that won't irritate my skin, I currently stick with Tarte, I'm not sure how my skin will react with these brands.

i don’t know about the products in the video, but neutrogena, bareminerals and clinque are known to have some good foundations for sensitive skin. hope this helps
