I'm stuck in my hotel room in Capetown at the moment after a hiking accident and I'm bored out of my skull. Your video came just in time, gonna check out the album later but I hope it sucks cause I'm not so sure my ankle would survive otherwise haha. Thanx Robert!

@williamsawrey5824 Mmm... it's got its moments and I like some of the moody passages, but overall it's a lot of different flavors and ideas all over the place if u ask me: I like coffee and I like strawberries, but I don't like strawberry-flavored coffee if u catch my drift. Besides it sounds a bit too sterile and overproduced for my liking... so thankfully my busted ankle can get some recovery time!

I really liked this album tbh. Not my favorite, that would be Luciferous, but still, to me it worked on similar vibes last 2 Whitechapel albums did, and...well The Valley and Kin are 2 of the best Whitechapel albums, so yeah

I think personally The Valley is just better than Kin. Kin is good, but The Valley could be one of the if not the best death core album of all time. It's a hot take, but it could be.

*or Immortal by Lorna Shore + Ulta Ella by Rings of Saturn. Those or the Valley could be the three best death core albums of all time

Loved it. The erratic chaotic points are jarring but work insanely well by being grounded afterward. Lots of melody, lots of heavy as fuck parts and super interesting clean parts. Definitely their best work yet. New vocalist kills it too (never was too crazy about Dan but he was a staple of their sound).

I'd put it in 3.5 to a light 4 King O Ruination and Blood and teeth just don't connect with me. I like the risks it takes but not all of them land. I've hated King Of Ruination since it's release because it's a total Meshuggah ripoff down to the vocal performance. I’m Travis is is good but he is pretty pitchy on his cleans.

Sick af album! This changes everything that we know about Deathcore as a genre and what possibilities it can bring for the future :D

Liked this a lot more than I would’ve expected. I do wish they’d stick a little more with that death thrash sound because some of the sections of songs are awesome. Do agree though that some parts don’t mix great and could always do without the breakdowns

Casket of rust is fantastic and I think if they kept things more along those lines it would be a top notch album, still enjoy it quite a bit regardless though

The Theseus Ship of modern metal bands. If all the original members are gone is it the same band?? But really, Interesting album for sure, I don’t love it, but It’s got highlights

There's some great shit here and not so great shit here. I'm currently obsessed with the instrumental track Accelerated Demise with its "metal-Stevie-Ray-Vaughan" riff and the bass solos, as well as Blood and Teeth and the closing track. Rest of the album hasn't hit for me yet. And Wes Hauch kills that solo!

I wish deathcore would fusion with my favorite subgenre of metal: Italian symphonic power metal. Powercore.

Pretty much echoes my feelings exactly. The clean choruses sometimes feel out of place, as do most of the breakdowns. It's a shame cause there is A LOT of stuff I like here.

I listened to this before watching 😂. This is an extremely busy almost chaotic soundscape, rather thats a good or a bad thing will depend on the listener. Personally I didn’t love it, but I also didn’t hate it. As such I agree with your rating.

First of all, D:AA is a good record. But it doesn't do the same to me as The Chosen did. When they released the singles for this record I was a bit excited yet not very hyped for this album. And when they revealed the whole tracklist I was very excited for all the features with Ben or Darius but those songs also didn't really hit the spot for me. As an example, with King of Ruination they kinda fucked up the part of Ben, which I was the most excited for (Shadow of Intent fanboy). But nonetheless I like that they dive deeper into other genres and blend them together. But for me, The Chosen is still their best record and followed by Luciferous. And tbh I don't fully like Travis as the new Vocalist, the only song with him that I listen to on a daily basis is The World Without Us, but other than that not a single song. But well that's just how I see it. And sorry for this paragraph. (And yes, I'm currently watching many videos of you. So expect more comments)

Exactly how I felt about it. There are countless great moments, but the ambition is what suffocates it most. The mixing doesn’t help either.

Made it to Accelerated Demise and just did not like the guitar tone on that frantic twangy riffing. Enjoyed the last two records much more.

The problem I have with alot of these bands is they just try too hard. Just write killer songs and let it flow naturally. I’ve seen them live and they are very good. Gabe can shred. I still ordered this one as there will be enough on it to like but with most tech/prog it just gets overwhelming at times.

A lot of bands are trying too hard to be so much more and to be so different rather than just writing good songs, and it makes them sound somewhat silly and confused. Hopefully Enterprise Earth cuts the fat and focuses on the songcraft next time around.

Sad news, Meltdown. A fellow KZbinr of yours, Melanie Loves Death Metal, is going through a tough time. She recently lost her job and is now unemployed. She's had to sell most of her CD and vinyl collection.
