There is a single accessory that singlehandedly may save you from explosives and boulders, which happen to be plentiful here: Worm Scarf. Also for other good choices there is frozen shield but you seem to already have it. Also, try getting BoC, dodge is very good even on its own

I would recommend the cross necklace or one of its tinkers for a tanking setup, as it can help you survive immensely if you get hit multiple times in a row.

You should add a way to set a notification alarm for when you leave a message for someone there. I am thinking using day cycle sensors with an announcement box that you can turn on for someone when you leave them a message. That way, next time they are in the world and a new day passes, there will be a notification in chat for them to check their mail.

I’d recommend for a tank build the following: worm scarf, frozen shield, hero shield, paladin shield, berserker glove, for your expert slot either celestial shell or ankh shield, and for your master slot either the shiny stone or the flesh knuckles depending on if you want to rank more standing still or moving around. Obviously this is a recommendation so take some of it with a grain of salt, and switch somethings around to how you like to play, like more mobility etc

Since youre playing tank, go for meele. Most meele things complement tanking. Also, make sure to get the frozen shield and vampire knives. Life steal and defending others.

Hi Khaios! I’m relatively new to Terraria having only started playing after Journey’s end a couple years ago. I really enjoy your videos. Y’all are all really cool, and it makes me wanna try harder with my builds (still trying to branch out of the ‘box house’ lol).

Don't know what your preferred playstyle is, but I managed to beat the game fairly alright with just Beetle Armor and Terra Blade. No amazing accessories, no great reforges on the ones I did have, and no potions. Just a Legendary Terra Blade and Beetle Armor, that's all. If I had to give a recommendation, increased melee speed with the Terra Blade is amazing. Fire Gauntlet plus Mechanical Glove is a good combo, and of course the Celestial Shell is always helpful.

If you really wanna go all-in as a damage sponge, craft a Frozen Shield and get a Worm Scarf. Might also be nice to have a Bee Cloak so every time you are damaged you can dish out a little extra damage as well as get a bit of healing.

I am an avid tank main in terraria, glad to see the switch. I also wanted to stop dying so here are my recommendations for keeping yourself safe: Pregolem hallowed mask, turtle scale mail, and squire leggings accessories: warding berserker glove, warding flesh knuckles, warding hero shield, warding paladin shield, warding wings, warding shield of cthulhu. For post golem: hallowed mask, valhalla knight chest, valhalla knight leggings and accessories: same as preplant except replace shield of cthulhu with warding celestial shell For weapons any of these will do: Terrablade, Vampire knives, scourge of the corrupter, and after pillars just craft the daybreak don't need solar eruption.

As a fan of the melee class, there are a few accessories you can get to increase survivability: - if you don't mind enemies and bosses targeting you over your companions, the hero shield (flesh knuckles and paladin's shield) provides ten defense. If you do, you can sacrifice three defense for 25% damage reduction at low health via the frozen shield (frozen turtle shell and paladin's shield). - on the topic of flesh knuckles, if you're willing to spec into melee/summoner you can use berserker's glove (flesh knuckles and power glove). - worm scarf gives a flat 1/6 damage reduction, pretty useful for when you do get hit. I've seen some people say brain of confusion but it's not as consistent as worm scarf. Can help with the stray fatal blow though lol There's probably a few more but I can't think of them off the top of my head, lmk if there's something else that can help khaios not die lol

For full tank it’s usually better to not upgrade from turtle to beatle, since the consistent damage reduction of turtle is better if you get hit more often than your charges would refill if you used beetle. A Raven staff is your best “summon and forget” staff with only 1-2 summon slots available until you can get a stardust dragon, especially if you’re not moving much during bosses. Cross neck/star veil essentially doubles your survivability against everything super dangerous that isn’t another player.

If defense is all you want, you might try to use berseker gloves instead of mechanical one, because they give 8 armour, autoswing and melee speed. The upgrade of paladino Shields with the Frozen Shell is great too.

A tip about the dungeon: there is a bug (may already be patched) where, because the "Queen Bee" is now classified as a bee, if you summon one, and head into the dungeon, the guardian won't spawn until it dies. (Someone found out while trying to kill it with a guardian, when they entered the dungeon an no guardians spawner.)

Master Ninja Gear is a must imo for Defense build, the movement and dodge are really good, but the Frozen Shield (Paladin's Shield and Frozen Turtle Shell) are good too, even if you just use the turtle shell part of it

Hey khaois melee speed reforges and accessories increases the terra blades damage farrr more than menacing because it fires a projectile EVERY swing and also just looks really cool with the speed

a bit of advice from an older combat player (ps3 era) you did good getting turtle armor and the broom, high defense and infinite flight is good, as is the terrablade. but you might want to get an optic staff and witch doctor table. also, consider getting a megashark or better, and infinite musketball pouch so you just have a very spammable long range attack and if need be, keep some chlorophyte bullets on hand for when you need to shoot at very long range or deal with a faster target. also the regeneration band/philosopher stone for its 15 second sooner healing potion cooldown. the best advice I can offer is have the summons for weak/passive pre-emptive defense at range and when possible avoid getting close to what's trying to kill you to quote the punisher "if your to close to shoot your too close period" otherwise the only advice I can offer is more headspace/mindset then gear loadout

For tanking when you get post golem go and get some of the valhalla knights armour from the barkeep it has super broken life regen and really good attack bonuses for summoner and melee. You can even mix it up with these armours to give yourself the best stat boosts as the set bonuses are pretty useless. Also make sure you keep endurance potions handy. For accessories I would use the frozen shield instead of hero's shield as it increases tankiness when life is low which is really clutch.

Drop the hero shield unless you care about drawing enemy aggro. It’s not that good. The best tanking accessories worm scarf, brain of confusion, frozen shield, golem’s drop, master ninja gear, ankh shield, cross necklace upgrade, and philosopher stone upgrade. (Mostly in this order) If you plan on not moving/dodging much, golem’s drop & cross necklace go way up in value. Also, the cross necklace has strong synergy with the brain of confusion and master ninja gear, as it increases length of i-frames which they both give.

You *could* use the Brand of the Inferno if you want to fully dedicate yourself to tanking but I have never actually used that weapon before so I'm not sure how effective it is.
