I just bloody got it. Death did lose his memory after imbibing a large amount of alcohol, but it wasn't the alcohol that did it. He was drunk, and got thrown into the Ankh river. And the Ankh river is considered a "magical river or other". So Death accidentally drank from it when he was thrown in, and lost his memory.

"i know everything" *Death* : how do people forget anything? ... *Death* : you don't know do you? This is why you should always be humble, because the moment you state something you cannot do; it makes you look foolish. That and facts aren't always 100% certain, eventually someone, sometime will prove it wrong.

Alchohol doesn't actually make you forget anything. It only represses things. The only actual way to forget anything is to age. Depending on who you are this could take a whole lifetime. It is in a way the best part of growing old. So that when you die you truly die without regret.
@bramvanduijn8086 Жыл бұрын
Alcohol disconnects parts of your brain, which means memories can become unretrievable, but because of the non-localised nature of memory it mostly just makes all your memories fuzzier. Alcohol basically has terrible aim. There are several other ways of forgetting, but the healthy ones I am familiar with all revolve around remembering and then doubting the parts of your memories. You see, whenever you remember something what you store afterwards is a new version of your memories, so if you can make it fuzzier, then it will be weaker. Repeat that often enough and the memory will be gone. Then there is the unhealthy option of trauma: While it is true that trauma often strengthens memory, if you break a mind thoroughly enough by repeated application of varied traumas, then you can make them completely forget who they are, and once you've done that, getting them to forget everything else is easy.

I know there have been quite a few in different forms, but I'd like to see it taken to the next level, a truly Game of Thrones level of production and scope.
