Death angel has been around since the early 80s, and yes they are the pioneers of thrash metal,the likes of exodus, heathen, blind illusion, testament, mordred, posssessed, betrayal, violence, laughing dead, mercenary sf ,, assassin, skinlab, defiance ulysses siren, wrecking machine and the list goes on. the bay area Capitol of thrash metal,.they opened new doors for young players, and the djent genre ..veterans of the bay area thrash metal scene..

They aren’t the pioneers of thrash. Maybe one of them, but not THE pioneers. Metallica and Slayer were doing it for at least a year before Death Angel.
