Not a lot of people talk about it, but this is one of their best written post fight analysis that they’ve done. Saitama’s potential could be infinite, but his overall power output, even at its maximum, is still finite and measurable. While there’s a high possibility that Saitama could be stronger than Popeye, he didn’t have the means to permanently put him down for good. But also the distinction between an anime and old timey cartoon character are so different.

@@Kingshoutout-lw5gl An omniverse, in terms of the real world, would be what we consider a 4th spatial dimension. In fiction, its the total collection of universes, multiverses and metaverses. Its hard to explain honestly and I'm not much of a versus debater but I'll try. Outerversal has always been a weird term to me. I know that versus debating is an inherently subjective thing by its very nature but outerversal is one of those terms that alway used to oversell a character's power and potential even if they haven't had accompanying feats to backup destroying their omniverses and beyond. Generally its trying to sell the idea that feats don't matter if they can just be said to that level; wank, to put it bluntly. But for feats of a character exiting into the real world and interacting with it, just sounds really dumb. There's Deadpool getting ready to kill the writer's of Marvel universe, but even with his multiple 4th wall breaks, he's still considered a street tier character. I've seen people consider Celestialsapiens from Ben 10 should be considered outerveral for changing the artstyle of the show, which is strange to me because that is very much contained within the dimensions of the show we see and it tells the audience that within the show, Celestialsapiens are powerful reality warpers. Or 4th wall breaking characters being considered outerversal because they're aware of the real world and have interacted with it. My problem is that it seems really weird to take this as a legit feat since this is still something that happen's within the world of the medium that the character takes place in. So the idea of Popeye beating the shit out of his animator, Bugs Bunny animating a cartoon to screw with Daffy, or Deadpool killing the Marvel writers sounds funny but it doesn't show higher levels of power, it just means they've bested regular humans working a 9-5 job. I don't think universal plus scaling is difficult, its just messy in terms of battlehoarding. Fictional universes that have larger observable universes than the real world's like DC, Marvel, and Dragon Ball, are argued for their universal characters being either multi-universal or multiverses. Then all that's before everyone has different ideas for how dimensional tiering works, which is a whole other thing too.

Saitama being stronger than Popeye is not a high possibility, what are you on? Popeye is aware of the real world, able to threaten his own artist, Rip & fix his own animation page and was not fazed when God turned off all of reality, reality warping, not to mention he has transmutation which is why Popeye turned Saitama into an egg just like how Popeye turned a bunch of villagers into coins, he's a toon force character. Saitama doesn't even come close to Popeyes power. Cartoon OP.

I mean it was clear from the beginning, at the end of the day the toon force, just like Disney toons, has no power limit. You could put Saitama against bugz bunny and he would still lose as toons break any laws of physics/reality, they just cannot be defeated, let alone killed.

Saitama exists in that weird spot where he's a gag character, but simultaneously very grounded. You can't really put him up against other shounen anime protagonists like Naruto or Goku because all feats we have of him are explicitly done to clown on these series and are in no way conclusive. There is no way to actually determine who would win in a fight between Saitama and Goku - which is probably the most requested (and most hotly debated) pairing for him. You'd never hear the end of it, no matter which way it would go, and both sides would have great points. The only thing they could do is acknowledge him as a gag character and find a pairing that would make for an interesting match-up no matter the outcome - which I'd say they've accomplished.

Yes, Popeye had his own videogame in the 1980s. Robin Williams played Popeye in the Popeye movie. Lots of stars cameo'd in it. The battle broke reality, hence the changing of the graphics to 8 bit and 3D. In outer space, Popeye punched Saitama into Mars, blowing it up. The blue-green planet was Uranus. Funnily enough, Saitama can in fact also be severely limited by something that would make it a funnier fight. For example, Saitama has before, completely failed to beat a regular mosquito - because it’s funny. The strongest guy on earth still gets angry and can’t manage to get rid of that one annoying fly we all know. So Popeye would likely beat him in his own manga as well.

The problem with this fight is that people think toon force by itself means he wins. When that's not the point. He has canonical FIGHTING feats that can be compared to and exceeds Saitama's. It's not like they put him again Bugs Bunny and says Bugs wins because he could come out of the cartoon and erase him or something. And while I agree with the fight, I'm not sitting here thinking it's a total misrepresentation of the medium like the Ben 10 one was. Why do people take this one so seriously? There's also an audiobook which was about genos training simulation in which the simulation could make someone challenge any character in opm and there was a point were saitama fought yesterday saitama and still managed to one punch his yesterday's self which is strong evidence that he really is limitless.

MANY people think that this battle is FACTUAL & MATHEMATICALLY ACCURATE & LOGICAL & other shit, whereas it's LITERALLY them trying THEIR best to make sense of a battle that has NO LOGIC, death battle just randomly throws numbers on the screen and uses big words to justify what THEY think is correct, EVEN THE CREATORS DON'T KNOW HOW STRONG THEIR CHARACTERS ARE, so HOWWW do they ASSUME they know?
