The reason that people are rude in the comments is that they’re so used to reviewers being spiteful to the show and screaming at the camera about how the episode was wrong for 20 minutes, so they’re just hostile to criticism to the show they love. Honestly if anyone reading this thinks Nemesis hates death battle, I'm starting to think you don't watch all his videos all the way through He doesn't hate it, he's just not afraid to point out when DB does something shit. I love Akuma and Shao Khan but I could not stand that episode. Nemesis should be allowed to point out flaws when he sees them and be allowed to praise DB when they do good. End of story.

Nemesis in a sea of cringy reactions, bland debunked videos, I really just wanted to see someone’s honest critique on this series as the art that it and to gain new perspective on the characters. I’ve appreciated your reviews nearly as much as the battles themselves. You go the extra mile and consider even the analysis portions as part of the experience, as it should be. Part of me wishes Death Battle Commentary and Cast would be as impactful and self evaluating as you are. I’ve been sorry to hear about the copyright trouble, especially with you being friendly with the people involved in the series, it is ironic given how often RoosterTeeth deals with copyright claims themselves. I’ve enjoyed Death Battle as a whole too, and wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t so invested. Keep doing what you do and don’t get discouraged with all that negativity.

It's completely fine to criticise on stuff, that's only the way to know things that could get better. That's your right, most people fail to recognize what really means to point out shit in stuff, thats completely fine. Asides that, this was a pretty dope season, even though some matchups didn't appeal much to me, I wont lie, I did had some great time watching throught these episodes. I've been watching Death Battle since Ryu v Scorpion and I only ever actually started interacting with the community because of you and Biffweed's videos this year, and because I got into the community I made a lot of new friends and got into coming up with matchups and making thumbnails for them, both of which I have a lot of fun doing. Because of you I've been able to look back on older episodes with a more critical eye and find details in episodes like Yang/Tifa that I still like just not as much and episodes I love even more than I did before like Snake/Sam. I can confidently say my life has been improved because of your videos like RWBY Abridged, Not Deathbattle, and the DB reviews and I cannot thank you enough for what you do. Keep up the fantastic work and have a fantastic year!

This season subverted my expectations in all the good and weird ways. Some of the episodes this season reminded me why I love this show. I met so many cool people on Discord this year, and this season holds a special place in my heart for that. The hype throughout the season, the banger tracks, always looking forward to your and Biff Weed's reviews, this has been one hell of a year for me as a Death Battle fan. And despite the occasionally boring matchup, the opinion that I occasionally disagree with, the salt that might sour my hype, this season means something to me. And I can only hope that, from here on out, we've got nowhere to go but up. Thank you, Nemesis. Thank you, everyone I've met throughout this season. Thank you, Death Battle.

i was more shocked that people thought Akuma vs Khan was anything more than a mediocre episode : the only shot i liked was the satsu no hado line part but even then it was more on the ine delivery rather than the animation. fight should've been in 2d - then the choreography they did might've worked

If I had to rank this season, Id say it'd go like this DIO vs Alucard (10/10) Goku Black vs Reverse Flash (10/10 the bad GB analysis is minuscule compared to everything else this episode has) Saitama vs Popeye (10/10) Link vs Cloud '21 (10/10 same situation as the GB analysis with Cloud because of everything this episode brought. As a Zelda fan, my heart soared in this episode and fight) Heihachi vs Geese (9/10) Yoda vs King Mickey (8/10) Po vs Iron Fist (8/10) Korra vs Storm (7/10, just on the brink of an 8 if I look hard enough) Madara vs Aizen (7/10) Steven vs Star (7/10) Batman vs Ironman (7/10) Shadow vs Ryuko (6/10) Macho Man vs Kool-Aid Man (5/10) Blake vs Mikasa (4/10) Lex vs Doc Doom (4/10) Akuma vs Shao Kahn (2/10) Thinking about it, I think this is my final firm thoughts on each episode. Honestly, I personally thought this was one of their best seasons, it's especially above the last few seasons. Everything, aside from Akuma vs Shao Kahn, are in some semblance good. Hell, 4/10 imo is just below average, meaning I think it wasn't the greatest but I still found at least a single handful of stuff I did like. 3/10 or below is bad in my eyes. And they had a grand total of one episode that did that for me. And not one, not two, not even three, but a whopping four 10/10s in my eyes. That's maybe the most I personally think they've had in a single season (maybe I'll have to relook through Season 2). And everything else was at least above average (6/10 and up) to just slightly missing the mark with an occasional below average one (4/10). That's really really impressive. And honestly, this season really recaptured and made me realize how into versus I truly am. Not on the debate side mind you, but for the concept and execution and match ups. I love it. Ive watched DB ever since I was in my late years of junior high (I'm almost 21 now), and while I've enjoyed my time with the occasional GOAT ep from season to season, this season recaptured the feeling of finding it all over again. And as a writer, or at least an aspiring one, and a thespian who loves acting and seeing characters and crossovers and action and everything of the sort, Death Battle is one of my favorite series on YT. It's got flaws, by god does it and has it for the last few seasons. But this season, I think they're starting to really find their footing again. So no matter what people say, I will keep loving this show and keep loving on analysing and enjoying each episode myself. And if you're reading this Nem, you and Biff were a big part of that recaptured spark. These reviews you guys do, they're great. And I've learned a lot over analysing something in a critical yet fair and productive way, something I've been wanting to improve on and still have a lot to learn. So thank you. Honestly, watching your and Nemesis’ content, it really reignited my interest in Death Battle, after having dropped off the series for years. Being able to analyze things like Death Battle constructively as opposed to just if the result was right or wrong, makes me appreciate things like the animation, analysis, and character portrayal more. But in order to appreciate when that stuff gets good, you have to point out where it falters.

To me, this was one of the best seasons of DB. Almost every episode was a knock out of the park with Kool Aid Man vs Macho Man just being okay and Akuma vs Shao Kahn and Blake vs Mikasa being the only ones I don’t like. Can’t wait to see what’s next of Season 9.

Nem, I must say that just the 7 minutes that was just you expressing your love for Death Battle and your feelings for some in the community hit me in the feels. I never would gotten to where I am today if it was for Death Battle, the friends I've made, people like you that I've found and respect... I may have not been here since the very beginning, (Sephiroth vs Vergil), but this journey has been a long and fun one, despite it's ups and downs. Knowing that there's people who were excited to finally see their dream matchups be realized just makes me proud to be in this community. Steven vs Star: 7/10. Link vs Cloud 2: 8/10. Batman vs Ironman (objective rating): 9/10. Batman vs Ironman (subjective rating, because this episode made me a Hellbat Armor stan): 10/10. Goku Black vs Reverse Flash: 10/10. Macho Man vs Kool-Aid-Man (as an ordinary episode): 7/10. Macho Man vs Kool-Aid-Man (as an anniversary episode): 10/10. Dio vs Alucard: 10/10. Akuma vs Shao Kahn: 5/10. Korra vs Storm: 7/10. Madara vs Aizen: 8/10. Saitama vs Popeye: 10/10. Overall, this season gets a 10/10 and it is my absolutely favourite Death Battle season thus far. Season 9, you've got quite a competition to live up to.

Out of all the criticism's and praises I've heard about this season, one thing that I will say that I've loved in this most recent season is the buildup to most of the fights, nearly all of them have had enough pre-fight story to make me believe that these feel like crossover fights, which I will ALWAYS appreciate, it's like He-Man vs Lion-O levels and it's great!

In all honesty, this is probably my favorite season of the show because almost every episode here is one that I like. The worst episode of the season is still like a 6/10 In my book. I find every episode good in its own way, rather if it’s Yoda VS Mickey’s Incredible characterization, or Blake VS Mikasa’s phenomenal track, maybe it’s the fun as hell animation of Goku Black VS Reverse Flash, or literally all of those things and thensome for Saitama VS Popeye. This season was truly incredible and I can’t wait for what season 9 has in store for us.

Honestly this is probably the best overall season of db since 5 or 2. Most of the episodes are a breath of fresh air with solid jokes and some of my favorite battles in recent years. Dio vs Alucard, goku black vs reverse flash and so much more. It’s definitely left me way more excited over what’s to come.

Don’t let the haters bother you, you are a fantastic individual who is passionate for what you are doing! Continue for what you are doing what you love! My ranking would be: 16- Kahn vs Akuma (3/10): Both analysis’ where pretty good, but the fight was asssssss. Janky, decent choreography, shit death, Kahn overall sucked and lack of abilities. Akuma was cool though. 15- Lex vs Doom (4/10): it’s a boredom. Godlike editing, but the analysis where aight. The fight was boring. Decent choreography and there’s some good moments like the foot dive scene, the reveal and first 15 of Super Lex and the preview wasn’t bad. Though it was boring all throughout and the dialogue was not good with them mumbling about how great they are. Death was cool too ig and Apex of Doom is the worst track of the season. 14- Blake vs Mikasa (4/10): The analysis were ok (Mikasa’s cutaway gag was pain), the fight was decent on my rewatch. I don’t have an issue about the frame rate usually, but it’s not great. I loved Mikasa’s comeback and her thought process, the shot before the death was amazing, but got ruined by the death and aftermath. Thunder Shroud is fkn amazing though holy shit. 13- Macho Man vs Kool Aid Man (5/10): It was decent. The analysis portion was weird and the Boomstick dad story sucked, but the fight was great. I liked the animation (especially the stop motion part), the choreography was cool and I liked the death and they handled it well too. Though it’s too short and it’s the episode with the most miss potential of the season. 12- Shadow vs Ryuko (6/10): Analysis was meh, but the fight was fortunately decent enough. I liked Shadow’s character here and even though I didn’t knew a lot about Ryuko, she was off to me. I decently liked the choreography here and I liked the shot of the Scissor blades above the earth and the sayonara line was a good call back. But the fight has some bad sound design, expressions and a bad death. 11- Batman vs Iron Man (6/10): I liked the analysis, the fight was fine. There was standout moments like the neck crack, the "Bust this" line and the shot of the Hammer. Choreography was cool and same for the VAs. Batman is out of character though and the fight was a miss of potential. 10- Korra vs Storm (7/10): Korra’s analysis had a weird pacing, but it’s enjoyable. Storm’s was better obv and good. The fight was pretty good. I liked Korra overall, the fight had a good escalation and the death was pretty good. The fog scene was good, the hand drawn stuff was great and the effects were great! Storm used little of her powers and some moments were janky. 9- Steven vs Star (7/10): The analysis were decent, though Steven’s was weird and not as good as Star’s. The fight was charming. I liked the setup and the VAs sold their performances. The only problems were the death (Steven grows fkn boo**), the hand to hand fight and the end. Though the choreography was great, the transformation scenes were awsome and the horde fight was cool. 8- Link vs Cloud (8/10): As a Zelda fan, I have some beef because I hate when "Oh, but Link is the same guy through all of his incarnations." Shut up, he’s not the same, every Link is different and the weapons around the franchise can’t be obtained by one Link. Ik that it’s for giving the character every abilities that he can have, but it’s just not it with Link. If they wanted the strongest Link, they should have put a Link to the past or BOTW Link. Outside of that, I liked the episode (even if it was a Link L). Great analysis for Link and Cloud’s was weird and it comes from my friend who’s a FF7 fan. The fight was really good. They could have used a bit more of Link’s arsenal, but it was good. Good choreography, good usages of their stuff, good transformation, Mipha spoke (I love Mipha so that was a neat touch that they used the line of Mipha reviving Link) and the death was really good. The pot scene and the bike scene was cool. Some moments were janky and Fierce Daity was blowned out too quick. Final Breath is fantastic. 7- Heihachi vs Geese (8/10): After I watched the Story of Tekken after Kazuya was revealed for Smash, I loved Heihachi’s analysis. Geese was too. The fight does it all though. It’s really good. There’s some jank, sure. Like it’s slow in some points, but it’s really good regardless. The interactions are funny, the hits are impactful and the death was gruesome. The track is great too. I like the back & fourth at the end and Geese’s combo was amazing. 6- Madara vs Aizen (9/10): The preview’s ass. But the rest is so good holy shit. Madara’s analysis is the best of the season imo. Nothing major is wrong here and the cutaway gag was the best as well. Aizen’s analysis was still good, though the cutaway was not great. The fight, after the preview, is amazing. The setup is probably the worst of the season and the start was jank af. After that, it’s all great. Well, there’s some things, like after transforming into his 3rd form, Aizen is missing his wings and the actual death wasn’t the greatest. But the VA, the escalation, the fkn meteor and more are all good. And Hollow Dreams is fkn godlike, there’s only one track above it for me, but it’s amazing. 5- Po vs Iron Fist (9/10): I liked both analysis, they were great. The fight was so good. They caught both characters personalities well, the fighting portions were cool, the One Inch Punch was impactful af, the dragon fight was stellar and the death was really good, if only it was. Still amazing fight. 4- Dio vs Alucard (10/10): perfect Halloween episode. I enjoyed both analysis, but the fight man, it’s great. There’s some stuff that is wrong, but the VA, choreography and everything really is so cool, creative and brutal. The death was so good and the Jojo memes were installed in creative and good ways. 3- Mickey vs Yoda (10/10): This fight was grand. The analysis were fine, but the fight has nothing wrong (except the hot dog bit). It’s really good and the climax is the best of the season. It has the best incineration death of the season. And it was funny with good interactions. 2- Goku Black vs Reverse Flash (10/10): This is my favorite episode of the season (no wonder, Goku Black is one of my fav fictional characters ever), but it’s not the best. Everything is perfect, the setup is in character, the progression is well handle, it’s funny with all of the deaths, "It was me Barry" meme was implemented in the animation and the track and the death was the best hands down of the season. Eobard’s analysis is really good and fun, if only Goku Black had the same treatment. After the karen joke though, I enjoyed the rest of it. I like this episode so much that I listen to Reverse Rosé everyday. 1- Saitama vs Popeye (10/10): Everything is perfect here. The analysis are amazing, the fight is amazing and everything comes together. Just, wow. I can’t really explain it, but both you and Biff explained it well. This is probably my favorite season of Death Battle (I’ll see).

I think this is probably my favorite season of Death Battle. A lot of episodes this season were absolute bangers, with Reverse Flash vs Goku Black and Dio vs Alucard being my 2nd and 3rd favorite Death Battles respectively. Sure there were quite a few bad episodes and a few lackluster ones, but that’s par for the course. And the highs this season were REALLY high

12:30 I still think that’s supposed to be Steven’s shoulder’s. I don’t know why they made them huge but I felt like that was a design flaw from the animators. I still like Steven vs Star I’d give it a 6.5 out of 10. In fact here’s my score for all of season 8 Yoda vs King Mickey (Star Wars vs Kingdom Hearts): 10/10. One of the first season premiere episodes that felt like a season finale. Shadow vs Ryuko (Sonic The Hedgehog vs Kill La Kill) : 5/10 Lex Luthor vs Doctor Doom: 5.5/10 Blake vs Mikasa (RWBY vs Attack on Titans): 4.5/10 Heihachi vs Geese ( Tekken vs Fatal Fury/King of Fighters): 8/10 I felt like the Elon Musk is Heihachi joke was a bit of a drag but the rest of the episode was good overall. Po vs Iron Fist (Kung Fu Panda vs Marvel): 9/10 Steven vs Star (Cartoon Network vs Disney): 6.5/10 I really wanted this episode to be good so we can at least surpass Danny Phantom vs Jake Long in terms of an actual good cartoon fight but instead it falls victim to the “okay episodes that’s before the big one” problem for me but I still liked the epsidoe for it’s animation (minus Steven’s Death which people complain about a lot) and they cast the Voice Actress who played Bulma in Dragon Ball Z abridged to play star which was funny so all and all I still felt like this episode was somewhat better Danny vs Jake I terms of betterness. Link vs Cloud 2 (Legend of Zelda vs Final Fantasy): 9/10 Batman vs Ironman: 6.5/10 Goku Black vs Reverse Flash (Dragon Ball Z vs DC Comics): 8.5/10 I wish they could’ve made Goku Black’s analysis more funnier and better like Thawne’s but the battle and the soundtrack was awesome. Randy Savage vs Kool-Aid Man: 4/10 I wish this episode was more over the top insanity like Chuck Norris vs Segata Sanshiro but instead we got Boomstick’s dad joke the episode with a reveal who some of us already guessed when the Red vs Blue episodes. Like when they explain that Kool-Aid Man’s tears can grow plants and bring people back to life and Randy Savage can summon snakes out of his fingers. I wish we could’ve seen that instead of Wiz and Boomstick explaining it. Dio Brando vs Alucard (Jojo’s Bizzare Adventures vs Hellsing): 10/10 BEST. HALLOWEEN. EPISODE. EVER!!! Totally surpasses Sabrewulf vs Jon Talbain. Praying that we either get Jason Voorhees vs Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger vs Pennywise in season 9. Akuma vs Shao Khan (Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat): 5/10 I kind of wished they changed Shao Khans voice a little bit because even though his voice actor wasen’t bad in that episode, Shao Khans MK1 voice coming out off his MK11 model looked a little bit of to me and the hits didn’t had any weight or power to them. Like when Akuma/Oni was preforming his raging demon one of his deadliest and fastest moves in Street Fighter looks a little bit slow and the hits kind of felt and sounded like light punches to me. Korra vs Storm (Avatar vs Marvel): 8.5/10 FINALLY not only a good Avatar fight, but also a good women fight as well even thought this episode was a complete stomp for Storm I really liked this episode. Madara Uchia vs Sosuke Aizen (Naruto vs Bleach) 9.5/10 I loved the laughing bit at the climax Saitama vs Popeye the sailor man (One Punch Man vs Thimble Theatre) 10/10. THIS IS WHAT RANDY SAVAGE VS KOOL-AID MAN SHOULD OF BEEN!!

There’s a hard line between criticism and insults under the guise of criticism, and that’s so important to denote! I’ve been known to comment disagreement of some of your points in the past, I felt that you gave Obi Wan vs Kakashi’s animation far too much praise in my opinion for instance, but there’s a far difference between someone talking about what they know and giving a notably personal/researched response, and telling someone they suck because their opinion doesn’t match yours and because of that you’re objectively wrong. Happy New Years, everybody. This season is honestly one of my favorites. While, it has its low points, there were few and far between. The high points were the opposite and were the highest of high points. Also, I'm glad they didn't do Gilgamesh VS Dr. Doom because that matchup is bad and I don't like it. Doom VS Lex is better imo. Also, I'm not the only one who felt weird during Madara's analysis whenever Boomstick compared Madara and Hashirama to Romeo and Juliet, right?

This was honestly one of Death Battles best seasons with only two bad episodes, one nothing episode, and the rest being at least good with some real bangers in there. Here are my short thoughts on each of these episodes. Yoda vs Mickey: 10/10 Fantastic episode that got almost everything right. Shadow vs Ryuko: 8/10 I will fully admit that there are problems. Even though it doesn't bother me as much since I don't watch Kill la Kill, Ryuko being poorly characterized is wrong. The death isn't that great, and Shadow's delivery should've been stronger. That aside, everything else was good. The action was good. I like the track, and Shadow had some good characterization. In an objective sense, it's a 7, maybe 7.5/10, but because of my bias for Shadow and the fact that he finally got his redemption, I'm bumping it up to an eight. I know some of you might call me out for being a Sonic fan, but if Nemesis can bump an 8/10 episode to a 9/10 because of his bias for Madara, I can do the same for Shadow. Lex vs Doom: 5/10 kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2fZqmiCbd5qrpY 0:08 Blake vs Mikasa: 4/10 Terrible frame rate with bad action. Track's fire though. Heihachi vs Geese: 8/10 Admittedly, I have no attachment to Tekken or King of Fighters; so I didn't care about this episode at first. In the end, aside from the Elon Musk tangent, it was a pretty good episode. Po vs Iron Fist: 9/10 I love Kung Fu Panda; so finally seeing Po on Death Battle was simply surreal. The episode great as well. The ending could've been better, but the rest was pretty great. Steven vs Star: 7/10 It's a good episode. That's it. Link vs Cloud 2: 8.5/10 I went in pretty much knowing Cloud was going to win, and I still ended up liking it. Batman vs Iron Man: 6/10 It's fine. Goku Black vs Reverse Flash: 9/10 Fantastic episode only sullied by Goku Black's analysis. Macho Man vs Kool-Aid Man: 7/10 Charming episode but needs more fighting. DIO vs Alucard: 10/10 Phenomenal episode. I know Nemesis pointed out some minor issues, but next to the highs, they're practically nonexistent. Akuma vs Shao Kahn: 3/10 This season's equivalent to Batgirl vs Spider-Gwen. Korra vs Storm: 7/10 Good episode if a little unmemorable. Madara vs Aizen: 8/10 Good episode, but I just don't care enough about Naruto or Bleach. Saitama vs Popeye: 10/10 Hands down my favorite finale. It's absolutely amazing throughout, and getting to see Popeye on Death Battle is simply unreal.

Overall for me, this season was my favourite personally. Yeah there were road blocks like Blake vs Mikasa and Akuma vs Shao Khan but this season has some really great highs like Yoda vs King Mickey, Po vs Iron Fist, Goku Black vs Reverse Flash, DIO vs Alucard, Madara vs Aizen and Saitama vs Popeye and one that I love (2nd favourite of the season) dispute it’s short comings is Shadow vs Ryuko. Yes. The sound design for the fight is not good, the kill wasn’t great and Ryuko’s personality doesn’t fit but I still loved this episode. I just wish some parts were ironed out so everyone can experience the happiness I felt when I was watching it.
