I first read about the burial with a tree in one of the sequels to Eragon (Brisingr or Inheritance) and I absolutely fell in love with that idea. Eragon had a thought in the book where he would like to have an apple tree growing out of him, so his surviving relatives can literally eat the fruits of him. That's how I want my body to be treated after I die.

Ask A Mortician is a charming channel. I'm glad she was mentioned. She has a few videos covering environmentally friendly options. I recall her mentioning places where they'll bury you directly in the ground without a casket, as well as a newer option of alkaline hydrolysis (water cremation) gaining traction for being incredibly environmentally friendly, though the latter option is currently illegal in a lot of states.

About climate change. My local area is often covered with smoke, because people use coal-fuel furnaces for heating. Sometimes, it gets covered with smoke because of forest fires happening thousands of kilometers away. It's not hard to extrapolate this, and presume the possibility of something being powerful enough to affect the environment globally.

8:20 I believe there was a famous quote by someone on the same. I think Einstein made an analogy this way: The knowledge and wisdom is a dark plane. Darkness representing lack of understanding or awareness. If you say learn a little, then the light around it increases-- the area enclosed in the circle of illumination formed is knowledge. The circumference, which is darkness surrounds the knowledge. As you learn more, the the illuminated circle grows, but for the similar increases, the circumference of ignorance and unknown knowledge increases greater. The more you know, the more you realize that the lesser it is you do.

I'm honestly really glad X reuploads some of these bits. They're just really nice, being able to just sit and converse. I was here during the livestream when you were talking about the environment and death and I'm so thankful you're willing to have an open conversation about death. I've heard you speak a bit about grieving too, I believe. I consider myself "death positive" in that the idea and reality of death and accompanying emotions/actions/etc. should be spoken about more. I feel as if it's a bit more isolated and shoved under a rug, which just makes the topic all the more uncomfortable, so when death does occur, people are unprepared. They are unprepared to deal with those emotions, with what decisions need to be made, and how to help others when they're grieving a loss. I just think it'd ultimately help everyone. Also: Ask a Mortician was brought up. Caitlin Doughty, the woman who runs that channel, has so so many funny and interesting videos. Anywhere from an explanation on funerary practices, coping with loss, to "here's a really interesting moment in history involving someone's body" to "here's the science behind it". At her funeral home, she really mostly does natural practices. She's also written books about the subject. I just recommend her if ever you're curious about something because she does a fantastic job.

Hi xisuma and chat :) I'm worried that we have not seen the peak of climate change yet ..... I have checked information with the facts from the time we started to write everything down from the environment that had an impact on Earth. And I can see from the graphs that there is a misrepresentation of facts from a little over 100 years ago when the industrial progress really took off and compared it with the impact that the pollution had consequences in terms of weather m.m. We do not know how long it takes since the pollution started and when the first signs of the climate change were seen. I have also read that there has been found that much more seawater disappears down between the tectonic plates and into the core than the researchers thought. We can just hope that it is able to keep the rising water levels in the world's oceans down, if we can't reach our climate goal, so the worlds average temperature is rising, and the sea level is rising too. Another thing I have read is that research that's being done into alternative foods for cows. Cows are "notorious" for emitting a lot of gas from their farts, but by feeding them with a special seaweed, it has been possible to reduce the harmful gases by up to 95%. Not much had been written on the subject, so it must be quite new. I have been subscribed to a Danish monthly magazine called "Illustrated Science in many years, and they also have a website where they have additional information. And if I thought I lacked even more knowledge about a topic, I then search the internet. The magazine does a lot in to explain the different topics in a way where almost everyone can participate, and understand the content. :)

Carbon taxes are folly. Deforestation is the problem. Reforestation or land set aside the solution. I’ve witnessed it with my own eyes. Born and bred in Africa I witnessed much of the climate change in Zimbabwe as forests were cut down for grain and tobacco cultivation and 80% of the land changed to grassland and semi-desert. The EU land set aside restores nature’s powers over the climate, fixing carbon dioxide and stabilising temperatures and rainfall. Why else is earth’s atmospheric carbon dioxide just 0.04% when it straddles between Venus and Mars each with atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations in excess of 90%? Carbon dioxide is not the demon, it is plant food and plants work for us providing us with food and controlling our climate to be most favourable for life. Carbon dioxide and fossil fuels are just side actors, just like police cars and ambulances are to an accident scenes. Just because police cars and ambulances are present at every accident scene does not mean that they caused them. The same with carbon dioxide and fossil fuels, they were mere agents of deforestation but deforestation was the cause of environmental changes. So the solution to gaining control over our environment is strengthening nature. The first method can be used by you personally to indirectly alter the climate for the better. Change to a keto diet and minimise your carbohydrate intake. This will not only improve your health but more importantly incentivise farmers to plant trees which bind soil and provide nuts and seeds for your keto diet. If you choose a high carbohydrate diet, farmers will respond by cutting down forests to grow grain for your food. So by altering your food intake to a keto or paleo diet, you alter the food chain and thus ultimately the climate. See the best keto diet here kzbin.info/www/bejne/namvhKuqZ65-n7M The second (macro) solution can bring about climate improvement as follows. 1) Build plant factories to feed 7.8 billion people and liberate land and water for forests kzbin.info/www/bejne/mp-mgqiteNmkgMk kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3jccpinmdCemNk kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4TYq6WPZ8aVd9k See examples of working plant factories kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5TPgIyNqLObns0 kzbin.info/www/bejne/anSwl4OCetmEg7M 2) Use cattle herds to revitalise soil kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKG3eZxthJtppqs 3) Use goats to reduce fire dangers in forests kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWrcmpaid6irg9E 4) Use agrivoltaics to turn deserts into meadows with solar panels kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqipc2Vop56tiNE kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYSWk3WFZZqZprc 5) Use marine cloud seeding to moisten and seed ocean air for clouds and rain kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6jJYopmYrqAiJY 6) Use minerals to assist salmon populations en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haida_Salmon_Restoration_Corporation Don’t be misanthropic with the debunked carbon dioxide nonsense. Be positive. Be useful. Help flora and fauna control climate and don’t demonise plant food.

I feel lots of people missinturpret climate change. It’s been a thing for 400,000+ years. For those who don’t know climate change is homeostasis it’s at balance. By that I mean it’s a pattern and it goes up and down every 100,000. Currently we’re are in the surge faze so it’s acceptable for co2 levels to be higher. Another thing is that winter has the highest co2 levels because of the trees leaves but if or when the climate rises then the trees will adapt to have leave year round for example trees in the Amazon. I definitely think we shouldn’t trash our planet but I also feel the earth won’t end in 2030.
