If Chuck hadn't passed away, likely Death would've been put on hold for Control Denied, which is where Chuck wanted to head musically. It likely would've gotten "softer" but still just as musically proficient. But like most of the old giants of metal, would've returned to Death in the past 5 or so years, and put out a monster of a return to form album. Now that album, would've been a sight to behold. Too bad we'll have to wait for heaven (or hell as the case may be) to hear that album.

RIP Chuck - I was at this show. We ripped up the fucking rows of seats from the ground leaving sharp metal poles sticking out of the ground that were embedded in the concrete - probably the most dangerous pit because if you fall, you could easily get impaled. The grandfathers of Death Metal - fuck cancer. This wasn't Gene on drums btw, this was Richard Christie.

What I love most about Death is how they managed to be progressive without it just being technical wankery. The songwriting is just so good. All of the riffs flow so well into each other and fit/ together perfectly. It just sounds fucking amazing. Purely pleasant to listen to. Yet at the same time really technical. Chuck's lead on this song is fucking crazy and the fact he played as if it was easy is wild. God level skill.
