Death From Above have angry sounding music but the lyrics are all about how he just wants to settle down and start a family.
@shailendraahangama1944 жыл бұрын
Uhh... I don't hear my much anger in this.
@Nergal_Slayer3 жыл бұрын
I always thought they wanted to oppose "settling down" and having "romantic nights". "She was living alone and happily" "We could do it and start a family" She was alone and happy, until he showed up. Being married ruined everything for her. She gave in to societal norms about being married and suffered for it. They could "do it" and start a family. Not very romantic, I think. Quite cynical, actually. Society promotes the image of a happy family, a husband, a wife and children. In reality though, it's just ruining the happiness they once had and urges them to just have sex and make some kids. This song wants to highlight that there's nothing romantic at all about being romantically involved with someone. Bliss and happiness is actually grief and sex. That's my interpretation.

yes... Idk why but I could listen to that looped forever... it's just not a technique that is really usable for a whole song but it demonstrates his proficiency in the "off notes" as I call them... but like Green Day uses a different , but similar "off note" technique to fill the spaces on "Brain Stew", same thing, I would love a whole song of that, I bet they do in live performances!!

@@theduckfromthejoke152 I think what the bassist is doing here is scraping along the strings with a pick, hence the name pick scrape. You can also hear it on the start of 'Bull In The Heather' by Sonic Youth. It's a great technique and sound crazy heavy on bass.

Saw these 2 for the first time opening for alexisonfire and billy talent in 2003. I had heard nothing about them before the concert. I couldn’t understand how these two guys threw up such a massive wall of sound and they had the place about to explode even before the other bands came on. Defining era in music history right there I was lucky to witness. 20 years ago, I don’t think I appreciated what I was able to see. Oh yea and then alexisonfire obliterated the place, lots of eyes were opened that night and lots of jaws were hanging to the floor. I don’t know how billy talent was able to follow that, but they killed it as well.
