The recipe for the Death Guard basing (and most of the basing Tak does is) cork and Water Effects from Woodland Scenics. The water effects is primed, then painted white and then Vallejo Mecha Fluorescents Yellow and Green are airbrushed onto the model.

Yeah it adds a bit of visual distinction between the different parts of the army. Plus of all the 40k armies, Death Guard are probably the ones I'd least associate with uniformity and symmetry, so it definitely fits there.

I’ve started my first army recently and of course I had to choose Death Guard, they’re just so evocative. Play On has helped me so much with learning how the game is played. And I have to admit I got very inspired by the bright green basing. My version however is a lot more newb-ish. I start by painting the base as vibrant of a yellow-green as I can mix, and then once it’s dry I layer on some Vallejo Water Simulator. You can also brush on the water simulator for easy glossy effects

What I like most about Tycho, apart from his enthusiasm, skill, and knowledge of the game, is that he's such a good sportsman. I've watched him point out his opponent's errors and let them correct them. He presents a challange in the spirit of good (un)clean fun, and revels in playing the villains as many a child of chaos is want to do!
