I think it's because we can't understand what they're saying. It's a different story if we did.

@@暧昧-u8e Not necessarily. I'm bilingual, and every now and then, I prefer one language over the other, even if I've known the other version longer or if it's the original :)

@@airachica i agree! but how about for this particular situation? i'm bilingual in english and japanese, and i honestly prefer this version over the english one both for the passion and lyrics. personally i think this one reflects the manga better, but that's just my opinion lmao

Is this audio from the live version? That might explain why the English is better
@arnoldthotticus48444 жыл бұрын
Im P sure it is, and the American version is a studio recording of a concept album which is why it's so clear

The English version is actually better for once. Good for you, dub!

@@Minmin_265 no, the entire musical was written in English, than translated into Japanese when Broadway wouldnt pick it up
@LordEdware2 жыл бұрын
@@Minmin_265 The musical was written and recorded in the US, but for some reason it was never shown on stage there. The first country to present it live was Korea, which also recorded its own studio versions.

I kinda want to see an English Broadway-style musical for Death Note with some of the original music from the show, like the original Dies Irae piece.

A lot of people are saying that they think the English version is better, but I don't see how. The English version doesn't seem to drive home the main points of the original manga as much.
@シンジ碇-f8o5 жыл бұрын
I think they meant better in terms of the vocals, not the lyrics. The English demos and Korean casts featured better singers than the original Japanese cast.

This feels sped up compared to the English version. Was this sped up in anyway to bypass the copyright youtube guidelines? lol
I think I like the English version better. Which is very rare.

Well, I don't feel like there was as much emotion put into the English version and it just didn't feel like Light to me when I listened to the voice and all. The vocals were alright, but there are several moments in Light's Japanese songs that feel like they do better at highlighting who Light really is and how he has changed over the course of Death Note. But that doesn't mean the English is a bad version, I just way prefer everyone in this version for the same reason being the voices. 😉
