Homelander in the comics was objectively innocent in some regard. While Noir was the worst of the worst, the baby, becca, other incidents. Homelander wasn’t exactly a good man either, he just wasn’t *as bad* but him making Starlight have to suck on him, A-Train and Noir whilst having also mentioned that they’ve done it before show that he’s clearly a bad guy even without all of Noirs crimes added on.

The comic implies supers are almost inherently unhinged, and Noir himself sort of explains that he went off the deep end because taking out homelander was literally the sole reason he existed, but he was never told to do it, and so he orchestrated events to lead to a situation where he'd be given the kill order.

It's not out of pocket. The depiction of homelander eating a baby is merely them portraying two things. 1. You're powerless to stop him from doing what he is about to do and 2. Kids are not immune to death and can die in the same ways as anyone else. I actually appreciate that even kids don't have plot armor because it's true to reality and gives more attention to how lost and demented the perpetrator is. There are real sick people in the world and I'm glad that some creators aren't shy about it and incorporate it into their work. Not trying to argue with you, I just prefer to see the darkness of reality because there is no point in hiding it. Take care.

I was left feeling kind of physically ill by the end of The Boys -- the "twist" with Homelander just to do him dirty like that was like, ugh... and then the whole bit with Butcher butchering his teammates and then forcing Hughie to put an end to him was completely nihilistic. It was basically, "None of this had a point, and everybody with any sort of power is evil, and the world is bad. Good bye."

The writers established that Homelander literally paid enough attention to pick up in during a gang bang with Maeve that Black Noir’s dick is the same size as his, but then also decided that Homelander would never just, look at his face, for the convenience of the twist. They didnt want to put in the work to either set it up well, or do a different twist that matches what they set up. That is lazy. I’ve never even touched a Boys comic book and I can tell that is lazy.
