“And Allah presents an example for those who believes:(Sayyidah Asiyahؐ) the wife of Pharaoh, when she said, ‘My Lord, build for me near You a house in paradise and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds and save me from the wrongdoing people. In the Tafsir of that verse Sayyudina Jafar as-Sadiqؑ said: This verse was revealed about Sayyidah Ruqayyahؐ, the daughter of the Prophet, who married Uthman ibn Affan. ‘Save me from Pharaoh and his deeds’ refers to Uthman and his actions and ‘save me from the wrongdoing people’ refers to Banu Umayyah. The fact the Quran compares Sayyidah Asiyahؐ and Sayyidah Ruqayyahؐ to each other, puts into perspective the greatness of Sayyidah Ruqayyah’sؐ status as she achieved a similar position as Sayyidah Asiyahؐ. Therefore, we can conclude that Sayyidah Ruqayyahؐ played a key role in safeguarding her religion and sacrificed her life for the sake of Islam. As for why the Quran drew a comparison between Sayyidah Asiyahؐ and Sayyidah Ruqayyahؐ

For the Muslims and non Muslims too, prophets of Allah Almighty have their totally different views of life. They have their own fiqh / jerudiction. You may consider the example of prophet Lute / Lott. He offered to marry off his own daughters to the SINNERS of his people for the sake of CORRECTION and Rehab. Either way you can think of it ; 1 - His great care for his people to be saved from hellfire. 2 - By HIS Lord / God / Creator ORDERS and COMMANDS to do whatever needed to be done in order to establish the clear PROOF against the disbelieving people.

No sane person (let alone a Prophet of God) would give his daughters away just to reform a deviant nation's sexual behaviour. There are 2 interpretations of the verse 11:78; 1) Prophet Lut told the men that his daughters - meaning the daughters of his nation were pure for them. 2) He directed people to have marriage with the opposite gender by referring to his daughters. There is NO way the Prophet Lut a.s. would offer his own daughters to the men rushing to rape his guests.

Question, why did the prophet marry another daughter to Uthman?

It is good question. Arguments are Prophet Lut offered his daughter to the Sodomites. As someone mentioned RasoolAllah offered her to Abu Lahab family. It is argued it was the Prophet test. He had to do it for survival of Islam. Or opposition & plotting would have been even worse during his lifetime. But having said all that this doesn't makes difference to our belief. Fatima (sa) was unique like no other. if he did marry a 2nd daughter it isn't a merit on him. If he didn't doesn't make a difference. Whichever the case it doesn't give the argument his followers think it doesn't that it enhance his merit. Who you marry is not necessarily because of your good character. It was also political & tribal in those times. Like the reasons the prophet married Ayesha & Hafsa

From the beginning, the prophet told Ruqqyyah that Othman would kill her as Fer'oun / pharaoh killed his believing wife Aassyah bint Muzahim. " if you, Ruqayyah accept to marry him still, you will have a status in paradise as good as Aassyah's " AND RUQAYYAH ACCEPTED THE DEAL. The prophet had informed and warned his daughter way before the " when, why and how " happened.

Agreeing with the fact that any father will search for a suitable spouse for their children, it does not prove that to be a virtue. To be someone's law or daughter-in-law. So, the only way to solve it, according to the Quran, is to ask the Prophet about it. If there is any narration from the Prophet that Uthman marrying his daughters is a great virtue, we will surrender to the will of the Prophet 🙂
