Valentin Narcisse (played by starring cast member Jeffrey Wright) is a prominent and highly-educated black underworld figure based out of Harlem, New York. He was also a black nationalist orator, active in the Marcus Garvey's Universal Negro Improvement Association. He is the main antagonist of Season 4 and a major antagonist in Season 5.
His character was inspired by Casper Holstein.

Yeah The small details if you notice he didn't die or just close his eyes he had movement The body Even facing death will try to survive or even seek a way of prolonging life by pumping adrenaline if you notice this scene even the doctor he didn't just fall over and die and the act of who betrayed him he had frustration like he knew he was caught slipping Superb acting superb with the minor details that to pick how being instantly shot is not like it is in the movies you don't just fall drop and close your eyes this is one of the truest murder scenes I've ever seen on camera

Yea, usually a pistol wound isnt incapacitating unless you hit the brain or spine. Then the body might drop quick. Most people who get hit are still conscious and can move still until they loose enough blood. The hollywood thing of hitting someone once and the guy just dropping lights out always cracked me up. Hell, I seen an old video of a cop, shot this huge trained boxer a few times before dude calmly walked over to him, grabbed the gun from and tossed it, and proceeded to put a beating on the cop. Dude was pretty big. The bullets just never hit anything vital.

This is really good physical acting, nails the disorientation someone would feel when entering shock after being shot, and the subsequent confusion that their body is unable to function whilst they are trying to flee. I love the utterly superfluous gesture of removing his hat, which I would imagine a man from that time would have done if they were getting ready to run.

Superb scene, evey one acted their heart out. From the initial screams that tells you that a woman may have seen the gun to the dying characters. The deaths are very realistic. The bodyguard trying to hold his head up is a normal reaction and the main guy standing up, and trying to walk. Just great, great acting.
