That scene shows how Carlito Brigante is very envious of Benny Blanco for becoming what Brigante was at the past, a VIP druglord. And curiously, that's why he ends up being "trapped by his own past." I think he did a far better job in Godfather and Carlitos way but then again, maybe I just didn't like the Scarface character and it felt highly over the top compared to roles he usually played which had a more realistic feel to it. As for who's better than who, I think it can go either way and comes down to preference. Both are incredible actors.

His problem was being one foot in one foot out. He truly wanted out but the way he was moving was as if he's still in that life. You put hands on someone in that life or a similar life, they don't care what your name was like on the streets, young guys will kill you. He should've known better. For someone who was very sharp and smart, that was the most obvious blunder that he made.
