One of the best gaming experience I've ever had was in Death Stranding 1. I do hope they will keep the sense of community and worldbuilding operational in the sequel. It seems that they're also focussing more on the combat without restrictions (since killing would have consequences). As always the graphical fidelity is of the highest quality and I'm sure the story will be good for a tear drop or two. Can't wait.

When Sam is walking onto the Bridge, you can see fish swimming up his spine beneath his skin... When Tomorrow moves from listening to the converstation, strands flicker as she moves... Details like this are usually very intentional, and I can't wait to find out their meaning! Photomode has become an important part of the DS Community, KJP hold a monthly photomode competition and is immensely popular. I've Platinum'd this game twice already and preparing to embark on my third. This game caught me entirely by surprise, and I initially just wanted to see what the premise entailed. That was just before summer, and I haven't been able to play anything else since. It's an incredible game, and I can't wait to discover more secrets of the Death Stranding in the second game.

It's a slow burn, where if you spend time help building up the world, you'll be rewarded, incl by getting new tools and toys. However, it's Kafkaesque storytelling, using metaphors to deliver a philosophical point. It's Twin Peaks on steroids wrt weirdness. So obviously not everyone's cup of tea to enjoy. Also, playing through it once *WILL* provide a satisfactory conclusion to the story. But if you play on beyond the ending, you may unlock something that triggers your curiosity more and a different narrative forms. With that new narrative in mind, you have to play/watch the game several times over in order to see the clues that was always there. The game even throws it in your face at one point, paraphrased: "To see it all, to connect the dots, you need time. You need perspective". There are plenty options to explore wrt combat and stealth once you get the gear. Sadly most never explore these options and go usual. Also, having seen it 50+ times at this point, only one player dove below the surface on "strand contracts". It really helped him resource wise. So no, I'm not gonna provide a recap of the story. It would be too long. Go play it yourself. If you want to cheat, go watch the ending first. Make sure you get from reaching the west coast and everything after. Then go watch Die Hardman VA read through all of "Lucy's Interviews". Almost everyone misses this, for that "who is" thing. Then play/watch the whole game, keeping in mind that every tiny little detail is a clue.
@whateverwhatever402621 күн бұрын
Sam Porter Bridges delivers packages in a post apocalyptic America. Nothing is connected anymore, so he has to do it all on foot, or with some small amount of vehicle use. Also while connecting a fictional internet stand-in that does magic nonsense, and building bridges and zip lines along the way....Also you have to fight tar monsters that are spirits or something. And your mom/sister is the president and the end of the world again. I may have gotten some of that wrong. But I doubt it. None of it is very clear and it's Kojima at his most unhinged. And I'm a massive Metal Gear fan. It's all very weird. Some of it cool, some of it very very stupid and nonsensical. Unfortunately not always in a good way.

The combat was quality, it just suited the game in that it was a little chunky. You're not a soldier, you're a courier. And also, the amount of combat is up to you. You can gear up in full plate with an arsenal of weapons and go on a MULE/terrorist camp purge any time you want, and you can get caught by BTs to start a miniboss battle, both of which the game rewards you for in loot. Frankly, when you consider the WWI/II/Vietnam sections, PLUS the mandatory BT boss battles, it had plenty of main story combat. Those sections were, like, every 3-4 missions.

@@ledumpsterfire6474 respectfully...I played the first one and rather enjoyed it. I get Sam isn't a soldier and I didn't expect for it to be MGS either. The first couple of times the combat was interesting because it was more of an advantage to avoid it so you didn't cause an event if you accidentally killed someone. But once you to into the swing of things and upgraded your arsenal, combat was a joke. I forget the weapon now but there was no need to be scared of the rain and BTs because I was easily destroying everything. It was right around the time you get to the snow mountains I believe.
@ledumpsterfire64743 ай бұрын
@@MHSenju3000 What difficulty were you playing on, by chance? On high difficulties, those different BTs you don't really see until the very end (the huge ones, the red ones, etc) are much more common, and they stop you in your tracks from just abusing one strategy. Like, on lower difficulties, you can pretty much cheese the game with nothing but the cuff blade, but that'll get you a voidout right quick if you try it on high difficulties.

Death Stranding especially the rework version with new mechanics and stuff, and Days Gone are unappreciated gems. The horde aspect and freakers (Zombies) the way it plays out in my opinion is better than last of us. Which is why I think Sony said it wouldn’t be a part two which sucks. Don’t really get how and why people bought into the “not for everyone” narrative. The game was incomplete. It was empty. It has very good ideas story wise but it is still an empty game. Throughout the story, it actually feels like they wanted things to go different, that they wanted more,but maybe ran out of time and budget with the whole project. I think it was too ambitious from the start. Hopefully they actually make a more simple, yet enjoyable game.

After it released, millions were disappointed and upset. Knack should be a prime example as to where a small fanbase should not justify a sequel. Nope 😂💀 It won't! Because in the past 5yrs, it's sold almost 11 Million copies, with Kojima boasting just earlier this year, that as many as 16 Million "users" have delved into it's world. This game was a slow burn at first, because many people had heard a lot of misinformation & negativity about it, and therefore, didn't give it a chance due to that. But then Covid hit & more people gave it a shot, and those folks fell in love with it, and then it started getting more positive word of mouth, which lead to even MORE people buying it for themselves, and the rest was history! So sorry to burst your bubble, but... It most definitely has NOT been a "flop". On the contrary. And it's WHY giving it a sequel & sticking w/the franchise, has been a priority for Kojima Productions. But ya'll can keep spinning that old, tired narrative about the game if you want. Just know that nobody is really listening to ya'll anymore, now that the game is WAY more beloved. But hey, good luck with whatever unfinished, buggy, and broken AAA $70 game you'll be pre-ordering next bro. I'm sure THAT will turn out great. 😉👌🏽 lmao
