Real talk though: The character animations in this game are incredible. Usually when a game tries to make their characters look and animate as life-like as possible with the aid of performance capture, they typically suffer from the dreaded "Uncanny Valley" effect. Death Stranding also uses performance capture and yet the game somehow manages to avoid the uncanny valley effect with it's characters. Not going to lie, that's quite an impressive feat on KojiPro's part.

The saddest thing is that John can't really comprehend that Cliff held no ill will towards him. Yeah, John partook in unethical, maybe justifiable research, but he didn't personally wrong Cliff.
@TheOttomatic915 жыл бұрын
I honestly think deep down he knew Cliff never held any ill feelings towards but it was more the fact that John couldn't forgive himself for what he had done and felt he deserved punishment for his actions, he thought Cliff would give him that but when he didn't he turned to Sam instead but eventually understood that neither of the two could bring themselves to kill John as he honestly was punishing himself all these years by pretending to be a man in a mask with no will or soul of his own.

defiantly a remarkable scene. Loyalty and guilt in its purest form in an individual character. I'm not sure how I feel about the grand narrative of a "New America" in the sense its tethering to Hideo Kojimas possible analysis of the modern day and state of the US. But either way this instance was a pretty neat story element.
@xShotgunSurgeryx5 жыл бұрын
Robosoldier11 yeah I didn’t like the whole story could kind of be boiled down to “Make America Great Again: the game” I kept hoping a curtain would be pulled and reveal that it was all bullshit propaganda but even that turned out to only be partly true. The game treats Bridgett’s motivations and end goal of reconnecting everyone like they were ultimately genuine, even if her methods were fucked. I couldn’t shake the feeling maybe America wasn’t worth saving in the first place. Guess this isn’t that kind of story. I’m too pessimistic.

Die-Hardmans confession part is one of the best scenes in the game. It seems they put more budget into this scene coz his facial expressions was something else. I couldnt tell if it was real or not. Great actors all around snd a flawed but great game.

Just finished the game and came here to watch this scene again. Excellent acting by Jenkins. This scene almost made me shed tears, but the scene that really made me cry like a baby was when Sam goes to the past trying to protect Clifford Unger from the Cops trying to shoot him. Clifford hugging Sam and saying the same things that he said to Sam on the last war zone battle between them. And then Sam returns to the real world and tries to resuscitate BB, oh man, that made me cry so much.. Such a beautiful, emotional story written here.. 60 hours of gameplay leading to this ending makes every single second of cargo delivery/walking simulation worth it.. Would be eagerly waiting for Death Stranding 2.

I don't know why this scene still didn't get many views yet, after almost 6months this only get 77,756views, maybe not many players actually beat it through here. But this I think perhaps THE BEST video game performance that I have ever seen... I hope in the future, or after this PC released, people can have more attention to this actor.

This fucking intent of the Oscar's, man... both Mads and Norman are pretty good actors, but Sam doesn't stand out at all... and this scene alone is whole lot more demanding than all of Mads's scenes combined.

Someone has to say it...the Oscars should add "best perfomances in Video Games". This game or others, like Tlou 2 or God of war, red dead 2 etc. are the future of gaming. It should be honered aswell.

Die-Hardman's face is animated so realistically, at quick glance I'd say it's a movie. His acting helps a lot as well of course

everyone else in this game acts like a robot and then you get this unreasonably amazing performance right before the credits when sam hands him the gun hes reading his lines like a grocery list and diehardman is reacting to every word like a bullet to the heart like can he be the protagonist please

this is perhaps the most emotional part of the game because you can clearly hear the pain in his voice and how he regrets the fact that he did it, for the first time in all the games I've played this moment made me cry
