He might not have become the absolute legend that he has if he had lived on. Life and death still have some mystery to it. Chuck leaving this world early could have been (in part) simply because he was done with this planet. After the phenomenal musical contributions he made, I would not automatically discard this possibility. This life can be hard and painful, as any metal fan ought to know. Death is not always a tragedy and is in fact the natural end of everything that is born. Death can even be spiritual, as Chuck himself sort of explored & learned during his lifetime.

He most likely wouldn’t have kept doing death metal in all honesty. He was already planning on leaving Death where it was during Symbolic, but people wanted another album, which ended up being The Sound Of Perseverance. He probably would’ve kept doing Control Denied like he was working on, but we honestly couldn’t know where it would lead from there. I’m just glad he gave us everything he did. He was a pretty poetic man, and obviously a virtuoso of his craft. Even in death, the image he left lives on in many of us. So we really are blessed tbh. Death to All! Lol

For sure. These are the best 3 players Chuck ever had at their respective instruments, imo. If Steve had been able to do the Symbolic album and tour, that would have been their best line up ever if you ask me. I love all of their lineups from Human on...but this would have been the best if it had been able to happen, imo.

As a guy with a drum kit (not a drummer by any means) it has been liberating to watch Gene play and see his setup. For myself, his interpretation of - and approach to - music is incredibly inspirational. Gene's shedding of what might be seen as "conventions" in kit layout and playing style has been a great influence and while I am not a particularly accomplished player, using similar ideas has brought a new ability to find engaging flows and enjoyment... surely the fundamental reason to play in the first place. Many thanks to the man in question!! Also, in my humble opinion, DTA are mindblowingly true to Chucks original vision and the worthiest reprasentatives to continue his legacy.

Those were the years when I first had listened to Human and ITP albums and got intimidated by Mr DiGiorgio's extreme bass work. Up to that point, fretless bass was just an instrument to my ears used in the genre of jazz. I would really love to see Steve DiGiorgio cover a Marcus Miller song in his own style and with his own interpretation! =)
