In the comparison of the two it's means that the X-Men hit harder and do more damage but the Eternals can take more damage. It's basically a "Mexican Standoff" where the mutants could technically mess up a Eternals if it's a quick battle but if a Eternal can figure out a way to draw out the fight the tides could be turned but if both sides are cunning and knowledgeable this could end up with both sides totally eradicated or left to the point that either side could do or take anymore from the other

In a rpg as long as you can use an ability it can do damage. On the other hand Hit points(i.e. Life or health) is limited but can be altered. As Kirito said "it's a numbers game" you will either overpower your opponent (damage) or you will outlast your opponent (hit points)

I don't think mutants are considered "excess deviation" because they have the gene. They're considered excess deviation because of a combination of their numbers and their new found immortality.

Druig explained the HP situation in the panel if you don't get the gaming reference. He said the mutants are extremely powerful but have fragile bodies while the eternals tho not as powerful attacker have much higher durability (the hit points). If the highest/strongest mutant attack does 999 in damage but the durability/HP of an eternal is 100,000,000,000 then all that attack power isn't gonna get you anywhere soon.....and Druig goes on to say something like "this isn't an attack, we're just tying up the strongest mutants".

With all the changes being made with the Eternals, I truly feel like they're being given the potential to be the most interesting group in marvel for the foreseeable future. I do feel like their story is progressing towards what the movie did though, where their main goal turns into finding a way to become human/ a human-like race. Still with powers but now they're mortal and don't have to keep sacrificing humans because they'll only have 1 life to live.

Hit Points are basically the amount of damage you could take. For example a boss in RPG can have HP up to x amount of numbers behind it like from 99999 to 1000000000. So your team has to be stacked in order to chip away at that many numbers.

@@dopespillcomics I'm a RPG junkie so I knew exactly what you meant. Cyclops, Storm, Iron Man would DPS (damage per second), Hulk, Thor and Colossus would be Tanks. Magneto could be a Hybrid DPS/Tank since he has high damage and has shields.

Hit Points means HP, your Life points , the amount of damage you can take before you die The way they said "X-Men deal more damage, but Eternals got more Hit Points" basically means that thr X-Men can deal lot of damage but the Eternals are like one of those "Damage sponge bosses" Have you ever played a game with a boss that isn't hard to beat perse, but it got so much life that it feels like a chore to win? Well that's the comparison. X-Men can keep on dealing a bazillion damage per attack, but it won't helpful if the Eternals life bar is 1 Morbillion ^googolplex (since they just keep reviving to rejoin the war on the spot, as seen with the giant Fire Eternal that they killed). On the other side, Eternals might not be dealing as much damage, but what they deal will stack up as time passes, which means that the X-Men are pretty much on a timer.

As said a couple times here, HP is an acronym for hit points. 'Tanks' in RPG's and 'Big' (usually a grappler/wrestler) characters in fighting games usually have more HP.

If you have more health than your enemy, you can normally outlast them as long as your dps is high enough, to not get killed when you try to heal your characters, this pretty much applies to most rpg's, with some games favouring a tank/ healer, and dps over having one particularly strong character.

Hit points are just the numerical value for a health bar my guy If you get hit for 5 damage, you lose 5 hit points. Drop to 0 and that’s death/ko/faint or whatever the specific game calls it

Got a question about Thor's hammer, mjolnir? It is made from Uru metal, right? It can hold powerful enchantments and harm beings as powerful as the Hulk (at least in Thor's hands). I'm curious. What if instead of Adamantium being grafted to the bones of Wolverine, it was Uru metal instead? Hear me out. If Wolverine had bones coated in Uru, along with Asgardian magic enhancing his power-set to near-Godly levels, would this make him an equal to beings like Hulk or Thor?
