So, Blood Hunt was cool, it had AMAZING art, the designs for the Blood Coven were cool af, I love to see Blade in the center of things - even if he was possessed, and I think it was the first case of supernatural being exorcism I've ever saw -, but... This event could be in Blade's monthly title easily. I don't know how to feel about comics now I'm old, man...

@@DensilGrant Well, that's the thing: Blade sounded off cuz it was Varnae all along; maybe the intention was showing that these ancient times single minded villains aren't that clever and dangerous at the end... I kinda liked the Bloodline x Miles combo and, as I had read the Dracula tie-in, my interpretation of her was more of an unwilling participant (almost annoying).

Overall I thought it was a decent story bogged down by too many mediocre tie-ins in (pretends to be shocked) titles that the main author had nothing to do with! I thought the Strange and Jubilee/Psylocke/Laura tie-ins were fine and the Brielle/Miles/Dracula corner of the event was also cool, but other than that the other titles like Union Jack and Wolverine felt unneeded. I think everything Midnight Mission related was handled well, but it felt weird seeing so little of Tigra and Badr considering how important they were meant to be.

Weakness to daylight was an essential balance to vampiric strengths, without it the world would be doomed. This ending was completely unsatisfying even though I enjoyed the journey. Dr Strange isn't that ignorant of the particulars of an oath, having dealt with that so many times, so the Supreme Doom setup was insultingly weak. Also, half the world population would be either dead in hospitals and side disasters during the blackout, food for the hordes of vampires, or turned to vampires. Brooklyn would basically be all vampires by this point. Writers that follow will minimize this the same way Xmen writers are going to minimize the mutants going murderfest on humans. In sum, I loved Blood Hunt. I bought comics I haven't liked previous writing on, and I probably won't be buying again because they are back to nonsense. The Union Jack mini series was my favorite because it was the most down to earth and more like horror. I don't know what Marvel is intending with the mess left over. Maybe Doom versus vampires. Because I'd say it left them with a very serious, immediate vampire problem.
