Awesome Video! Next week, I'm taking my rig up there via the same route as you did . I only have about 9.5 inches of clearance, but I have a short wheelbase, so I have no concerns at all. I've done similar obstacles over the years with my trusty rig. Thanks for publishing your video. I really wanted to get a sense of this road before I pedal my way up. It's gonna be fun!

What a great trip ! Big dog to snuggle up with. As I watched, I thought, ok- my Outback is good to there and there and oops, no, don’t think so. It made me miss my International Scout and we slept in that always. Thanks for the video !

Great video! I have the same Attwood marine fuel tank up on top of my FJ. Do you use a siphon pump or do you have another trick?
@WayneFairbrother3 жыл бұрын
I use a jiggle siphon pump - easy as.

Thinking of DV trip on same route in opposite direction. Can I get away with one 5 gal jerry can? I see that monster tank on your awesome rig! I'm in 5th gen 4Runner with ~300 mi range

I would say yes, especially if you're not pulling a trailer. You can fill up at Big Pine and again at Stovepipe Wells - that's about 190 miles. I carry extra, because with the trailer my range is only about 150-180 miles.

good job, Wayne would you get the Grapplers again or will you pick some other tires next time ?
@WayneFairbrother4 жыл бұрын
No. I've gone back to Toyo Open Country M/Ts. Heavier but way better traction.
