These are some of the best offroad videos I have ever seen. Love your music choices, especially in this one! It seems we have been to many of the same spots with our Landcruisers.

Great video. What's the gas tank you have on the roof rack? How many gallon? You like it? Very cool setup
@WayneFairbrother2 жыл бұрын
The fuel tank on the roof is a marine tank www.westmarine.com/buy/west-marine--12-gallon-low-profile-low-permeation-above-deck-fuel-tank--13854237. It works really well and is designed to swell with changing pressure. Indeed, that's one of my lessons learned while using it - make sure its vented and preferably cool when strapping in place, because if it cools down on the trail it can become loose. The only time I've smelled it vent is in very hot (> 110 deg F) conditions. My other lesson learned is the cap needs to click several time to ensure a good seal - do that and it doesn't leak. I use a standard jiggle siphon for transfer to the gas tank - also work well.

I have heard that this road can get pretty off-camber (up to 20 degrees). I know videos and pictures tend to flatten things out, but aside from a hole here or there, it looks fairly level. Am I right on that, or is it pretty off-camber? Great informative video so people can decide if they really want to tackle this road. I have a 3rd gen Tacoma OR with 31 tires and stock suspension. I wheel 3 rated trails fairly frequently, so I think I may just go for it. (Though if it's too off-camber that may scare me away).

It wasn't too bad when we did it. The worst spot, in my opinion, is at 10:30.

Great video. I'm a little confused though. Can you point out the part where you approach the Racetrack?

Great job on your video! I’ve always wanted to take Lippincott Rd but I tend to have a fear heights, at least when the 1000 ft drop is 2 inches away. On one of our last visits to DV we took the Pleasant Canyon trail near Ballarat. There is two routes to that. One, through a canyon where the branches can scratch your car or the upper route over a mtn ridge. Well, I just about had a heart attack because of the heights on that one. I was never so happy to get off that ridge. Can you tell us if much of Lippincott is precarious or just few places?
@WayneFairbrother5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Honestly, I think it's all in ones perception, but the only place I found precarious at all was around 11:00 on the video where the road is a little tippy and narrow due to being partly washed out. It's this section that caused us to wait a little while at 10:00, while the oncoming vehicle swapped drivers. I think the young lady in the passenger seat experienced some anxiety at this point so her dad took the wheel.

Do you think a short Bed tundra would make it down this trail? Going there this weekend with some buddies and one has a tundra.
@WayneFairbrother3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Should be no problem with decent tires.

I don't get how they can make titus canyon a one-way road when there is a ton of run off so others can pass but not here. Edit, meant titus canyon
