Fury stood up against the combined might of the Seven Sins in addition to the Counsil provided powers stolen by Envy and won. And after that even resisted the onslaught of the Counsil. We don't know what happened to Strife during and after Abbadon's invasion on Haven. It's safest to assume he lost that battle, which would explain why his guns are in possesion of the Makers. Judging from his expressions as "Jones", it seems he took on that reluctantly, almost as if he wasn't either at full power, or didn't see any hope of winning, without his Counsil provided powers. ...Which makes War's victory over Abbadon, more of a bigger feat, than the fan community gives him credit for.

The oldest of the Nephilim are the most powerful and Death was the 2nd born, the others were born much later with Strife, Fury, then War. Death has the most powerful magic and has even survived being ran through with War's sword, Chaoseater after the Sword's influence was too much on War, Death then held the sword in place while the others restrained War and cut his arm off. All of the horsemen are powerful but Death is on another league compared to his younger siblings.

Magic goes definitively to Fury, she's the mage of the team by lore, Death is mainly very good with Necromancy and rarely comes into contact with other types of magic. Weapons is a draw between Fury & Death. They are similar with their shapeshifting abilities, but Fury's Scorn takes the edge in versitality, as it is empowered by the different Hollows and Souls of the Void she collects. Death's Harvester on the other hand only uses his own power, giving it bigger output thanks to Death being more powerful than Fury, but with lower variety of powers compared to Scorn.

It makes sense since it was stated "it required all Four" and Fury clapt the Seven by herself, even the fused power despite supported by weapons and powers of her siblings. The Council wanted to make sure she died first but the Hollowlord unleashed her potential, which played into Envy's favor until she herself was defeated by Fury. The thing is to many people can't accept her growth or don't fully understand and miss some quotes completely. There still people who think Fury was given his full power.

The plot mentioned the past battle against the seven, which required all four Horsemen in an sanctioned mission, hence the statement in the official summary. This wasn't Strife, it was a Illusion created by Lust to trick Fury. All shown was a lie. Strife wouldn't beat the Seven and the four Horsemen wouldn't bow to Fury. Strife was hidding on Earth as Jones and obviously didn't want to confront the Sins. He was hoping her sister changed her fierce nature in order to fight for humanity, so "humanity has a chance". The Hollowlord saw a "greater power" in her, thats why she is chosen as "guardian" of the most powerful artefact and not one of her siblings.

Ngl I think fury armed with the four hollows and the talisman from thr lord of hollows might be a good contention for best horseman. In genesis when they say death is thr oldest and strongest. Sure that may be true. But that's a prequel to the first three games. So it might be only held true for so long. I think fury is definitely one of the stronger of the horsemen now. Maybe even comparable to death. Her being humanities protector and all.

Death is by far the most powerful. He cannot be harmed by other Horsemen either. War's Chaoseater can't damage Death, and even Strife said it is damn good that Death's nigh invincible when he was stabbed by War while trying to protect Fury from War's killing blow. He is the first generation Nephilim, among the oldest of the oldest. Other three belong to younger generations. Death is the only person the entire Nephilim race had that could be called a crafter. Crafted weapons that make his Scythe, one the strongest weapons in the creation look like a kid's toy. Death's magic is versatile. Can resurrect beings, even Horsemen (he resurrected War after he was killed in a battle). He can perform a blood ritual, he can command ghouls, he control souls, his higher form to a way higher degree than the rest. Physically, War should definitely be the strongest. The further the fight goes on, stronger he gets. A holding back Strife and Fury can't incapacitate him. Took three of the Horsemen to take him down when he lost control (although Death could have done it by himself alone). Fury is the weakest. The parallels between her and Envy imply it. Both are the weakest, least significant of their kin but they obtain power that elevates them to another degree. Fury has Lord of Hollow's Talisman something that can destroy the Charred Council and even Lucifer is wary of it. She has hollow forms? (question mark because her power was actually absorbed by Envy). We need a proper Strife game to comment about him further.

Canonically is implied that Fury is the most powerful since her success against the empowered Seven. The Hollow Lord choosed the potentially most powerful of the four to protect the sigil, for obvious reasons. You ignore canon quotes. Theoretically Edge/Scythes of Scorn can harm Death, can"cut through time and space". Past events are obsolete. Also, what many people miss, Fury fixated War's arm before Chaoseater could reach her, which is why War couldn't move his arm and Death was able to cut it off. Fury even references that moment, saying: "Had I known the New Pact would be so exciting, I would have let War seperate my head from my neck then and there." That means she stopped his attack. And what many also miss, Strife, Fury and Death are not willing to fight War but War was willing to fight them. But anyway outdated. You: "She has hollowforms?" Seriously? Answer: Yes, the point was to make Fury powerful enough to guard the sigil. The Council couldn't kill her while she was using Flame Hollow.

@@infinitex7666 good reply. However there are problems with it. Seven weren't empowered, nothing suggests that. Hollow Lord has chosen Fury, that is true but nothing implies or states it is about potential or her power. You could at best say that he wanted her to grow and at the end of her journey, she would gain a purpose and wisdom, which happened. "It is good to have a purpose again, isn't it?" Nothing implies Fury's weapon can harm Death. Chaoseater cannot and even Affliction, a Nephilim weapon that is on par with Harvester which is stronger than Chaoseater and Scorn didn't do a thing to Death. You are right about Hollow forms, she had the Flame Hollow and used it to protect herself from the Council's attack, my bad. Still, Fury being able to defend herself from the Council doesn't really mean anything. The Council was in a weakened and wounded state and they'd be dead if not for Fury. Fury briefly defended herself with Flame Hollow which countered their lava based attacks, and even then if not for the talisman of sin/LoH's artifact, she'd be dead. Past events aren't outdated and still are canon. Fury saying that she should have let War have my head doesn't necessarily mean that she stopped his attack. Death saved her by interfering, and she just grabbed the already unmoving sword. What she could have mean by that is that was a moment she was close to dying and War taking her life would be better than her current situation (boredom). So regardless nothing states Fury is stronger than War and Death, every other source including official THQ statements place Death as the eldest and most powerful Horseman. Fury's implied to be the weakest and least significant one. Paralels are drawn through the story, especially with Envy and Fury being the least important of the Horsemen. Through her journey, she grows in power and most importantly as a person, true but this isn't enough to place her above others. Thank you for your response but it is full of speculation and isn't based on real evidence, statements, implications from the games and other media.

@@ATunnel1 It's mentioned defeating the Seven by her own "proves" Fury is "the most powerful Horsemen" (Artbook) and worth to lead the Horsemen (Game). And she succeeded, despite betrayed and confronted with Seven empowered Sins (Game). In past "it needs" all four to defeat a weaker version of the Seven (Game). Lust said the ones who empowered him are will soon reveal themselves. Also Gluttony was stated more dangerous. The Council let them free and empowered them, thats the betrayel on her. Why only few people get it what happens in DS3. Watcher Envy who tricked the Council and Fury said to Fury "They send you alone. They believe just ‐I do- that you possesses greater power than even you realize". And Envy confirmed later he is most Envy of Fury's power. A attack who can transcend time and space can hurt near anybody. And according to the game canon Death is not nigh invincible as demonstrated. Also most durable means not automatically most powerful. And he isn't even more durable in all aspects, Death can't survive Lava like Fury and his Reaper Form in Game is unlike War and Fury not even completely Invulnerable. No, all what I mentioned is stated in official sources. And according to your own logic Fury should also the most powerful of the Horsemen if you compare her with Envy who becomes the most powerful of the Seven by absorbing powers like Fury.

Fury is stronger than war and strife... not death though ... it's already well known it used to take all the horsemen to hunt down the sins... meanwhile fury with a flick of the wrist😂 oh and she fought one of strongest angels usiel and not to mention the end game boss which was envy infused with the rest of the sins powers and was just about to end the charred councils life and they were even begging fury to help😂 oh and by strength I mean how would they do against an equal in battle... I know pure strength is war

I’m sorry but Fury isn’t stronger than War. It’s stated repeatedly that when it comes to raw power, both War and Death are above that of their siblings. War being the physically strongest Horsemen and Death being the most skilled and powerful. Both War and Death also own powerful weapons. Chaoseater, wielded by war, being limitless in its power as long as it continues to feed on the chaos around its proximity, meaning as time goes on in a altercation, chaos eater grows in power. Think the hulk but in weapon form. And Death owns two weapons. His schythe in his normal form (not present in the game) that can transform into any weapon that Death can think of only limited to his imagination and his reaper form schythe, capable of piercing most defenses magical and physical known to creation. The only weapons that set Fury apart is her hollows which pale in comparison to Deaths necromancy feats and lightning speeds despite her being “the mage of the group.” Fury also has scorn which was crafted by the mad smith but compared to chaos eater and deaths schythe it pales. But one thing that fury has is that her armor is actually a grand abomination. However, we never actually see her armors full potential, despite grand abominations being known to be weapons of mass destruction. Strife is considered the weakest of the four, but he still is no slack and good luck getting near him while he wield redemption and mercy. So lore wise as it stands, Death is the most powerful, followed by War, then Fury, Then Strife. Death and War are nearly equals and for war it actually took three of the horsemen to take him down (to be fair they weren’t trying to kill him, especially Death). However both fury and strife struggled and death also most killed fury and would have died or been seriously injured if it wasn’t for death steeping in and cutting off wars arm. War only has the edge on war because he’s slightly more powerful but more importantly he has many more years of experience, him being first generation Nephilim while his siblings are not. Death even has the ability to shape shift his face under his mask, but we haven’t seen this in game yet as he wears a mask. And at full power (when the seals are broken) death has the ability to bring those back to life given he has enough energy and those dead haven’t been gone for long. He can do this temporarily as seen in the abomination vault with the angel in abomination vault, or permanently as seen with War also in the abomination vault. Also the council never sent Fury to capture the sins because she is stronger than her siblings. It simply was because no one was available. Strife and Death had disappeared, death attempting to clear wars name and War was imprisoned. Fury was desperate for some action so who better to send, someone who is unlikely to ask any questions and isn’t know for being the brightest of the four. Also in game, Fury isn’t able to take on as many enemies at once like War and Death are capable of in their games.
