Years ago I was reading a news article about a research on brain's response to different genres of music, .It said the participants' brains had the same reaction listening to Vivaldi and Metallica (iirc, Winter and Enter ther Sandman). I always said that the closest genre in modern music to classical, is metal. Utilizing different instruments, composing different sections, highs and lows, there are alot of similiarties between the two genres.

The sad thing is this specific kind of implementation of symphonic bits with the instrumentals is what Shadow of Intent nailed, not Lorna. I like the guys in lorna and wish them the best, but as respectfully as possible - Lorna's symphonic usage is so far removed from bands like fleshgod, shadow of intent, DT etc that it may as well just be a different genre. They don't weave the symphonic bits with the instrumentals, they just add a background string layer that sounds epic and is way too loud in the mix, overpowering the guitar. It's honestly really sad that the band people think of is lorna and not shadow, cause chris wiseman is so much better when writing at incorporating the symphonic elements, not just using them for dramatic background effect.

with regards to lorna shore, I don't even think they are in the same ballpark on basically every single metric, saying they are trying to out lorna is def not justified imo. they have every aspect turned up to 10 compared to lorna, musicianship, vocals, cinematics, song format, breakdown impact, explosion sounds... lorna is great but it's just a different thing.

This sounds like something that Dracula would listen to if he was a metalhead

They are clearly playing, not kidding. The breakdowns are sick.

Calling the first track "just stupid" and saying they are just trying to out lorna shore, lorna shore, kind of frustrates me. I think you missed the mark on this one, they are insanely talented, but hey, everyone has their tastes so maybe you just aren't into their sound. However I see alot of people saying this same thing, give this band the respect they deserve, these tracks go insanely hard and are very well crafted. Cheers

Maybe you’re just stupid lmao. He means “stupid” as in “stupid heavy” or like it’s so heavy/good that it’s stupid
