@@txag007 yeah i was thinking of using Jorn as the Commander (as god of winter he is the ice king) and thinking of using the swords theme as a subtype. being in sultai allows you to also use Mowu as Jake the Dog, Vivian as the huntress, and can even allow you to do some of the one-of characters (like the deer with human hands)

A lot of "newer" players (comparatively, I picked the game in 1995) have only seen poison counters explained on cards that had Infect; and assume both are the same. I’m with you. I already have a bunch of Deathtouch in my Atraxa Superfriends deck to protect the superfriends, so Flynn slots in as an extra wincon so easily, it actually silly. Worst case scenario, it takes Deadly Recluse’s place to keep the exact same curve as before.

Consider Hapatra for infect ;) infect damage done to creatures spawn her those 1/1 dt snakes that can block and clear the board so you can just swing thru with infect. Or cause your opponents to attack each other.

@@zachariaravenheart I use her for commander. Use cards like whispersilk cloak, she gets shrouded and unblockable. Allowing the commander damage to always pass and spawn the death touch snake tokens. And infect damage done to creatures is permanent -1/-1 counters. It's beautiful.

Use Tainted Strike. If an opponent swings at another opponent for 10 or more damage and it goes thru, tainted strike will give them infect and knock out an opponent and you don't even have to be the one attacking. It's awesome.

I always thought it was a stupid EDH rule that it only takes 10 poison counters instead of 20. If the life total is doubled. Poison counters should be doubled as well.

This is the flavor for Deathtouch I have been waiting for. I was always mad that Deathtouch was meaningless in terms of dealing damage to players/planeswalkers (unless you had Quietus Spike). Just kinda weird that this isn't Golgari, so you miss out on a lot of deathtouch creatures and Vraska.

This would be great with triumph of the hordes. Deathtouch and trample basically means you are basically guaranteed to get at least one damage through, and the infect means they will take more poison damage in addition to those provided by Fynn.

Bow of nylea plus trample creatures is more than enough, you deal 1 damage to each creture blocking (is lethal damage) the rest passes through it's amazing for this commander

Bower Passage can be a great enchantment in this deck if the hornets are a key focus, or if you play against people with lots of flyers. Rogue's Passage would be an obvious include as a colorless land that can send any one creature through per turn, great to finish someone.

Hey Mitch, isn't Trample a really amazing tool in this deck since any Creature with Deathtouch that has two or more Power will always put Poison Counters whenever it attacks. If i'm not mistaken, since the lethal damage for creatures with Deathtouch becomes 1, Trample makes all excess damage pass through.

I think it would stack. The deathtouch creature gives 2 poison counter through Fynn which is not really Infect, so when you equip grafted exoskeleton you give the creature Infect and pump it so a 1/1 deathtouch with the Infect from the equipment would give a player 5 poison counters.

So quick rules question. If a creature had death touch and gives a infect counter like a 1/3, 1 damage would give 1 infect counter and with the commander it would give 2. So a creature that is a 3/3 would that be 6 infect counters with the commander? So each point of damage is 1 infect counter?

I have fynn as commander, and the deck is all about spamming elf tokens, I have ohran frost fang and sarynth vipers fang to give them all deathtouch. I also have a few things to clone/retrieve those two.

You forgot a card, Mitch. Ohran frostfang (~$7.50) 3 and double green for a 2/6 snow creature (since snow is on theme for kaldheim) Attacking creatures you control gain deathtouch. Whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player, draw a card.

Add in 'Nightshade Peddler', a common, from Avacyn Restored! You can make a trampler(like Vorinclex) even more dangerous by giving it deathtouch.

Poisonous X is the keyword you're looking for, literally only on two cards but that leaves even less reason to not use it imo. Probably a wordy thing because the card would read "Deathtouch. Creatures you control with deathtouch have poisonous 2. (Whenever they deal combat damage to a player, that player gets two poison counters. A player with ten or more poison counters loses the game.)" It's like, 3 words though. I have the same problem with "Eat to Extinction" not using "Surveil 1" instead of just saying the same thing like we got.

Missed opportunity here to talk about trample on death touch creatures. Building you deck with lots of low to the ground death touch creatures and giving them loxodon warhammers and rancors is definitely the way to go for this deck.

Stop calling "infect" something that's not infect xD it's "poison" and won't give -n/-n to the indestructible/regenerating blockers you use to stop the poisonous beaters. It's an ability that's been around for longer than infect in cards like Pit Scorpion or Marsh Viper, top of my head.

I actually have a Hapatra, visior of Poison's deck that I've designed to swarm people with -1/-1 counter and creating a buttload of deathtouch snakes. And this card is easily going to be a auto-include into that set up. i usually play pretty defensive with all my snakes, but that card will easily turn the tables to make my snakes aggressive as hell!

Was actually pretty budget too! Not including the price of the commander which isn't out yet, the whole deck cost me about £60, that's including an Inkmoth Nexus which cost me £12 so if you took that out then £48 + whatever Vorinclex is on release and it seems pretty decent for the price. And that was from owning basically none of the cards, so if you have a large collection then likely even cheaper. Not normally a budget player, love my Sylvan Libaries and Mana Crypts but I'm pleasantly surprised with how this turned out.

Doesn't infect add poison counters equal to the damage dealt? Also, the damage is dealt AS poison counters? Fynn's passive seems to add 2 poison counters (no matter how much damage is being dealt) in addition to lowering your opponents life, while "double infect" would add poison counters equal to twice the damage that would be inflicted, while not lowering the opponent's life total. Unless I'm misremembering the rules for infect. Which I could be.

You should put Saryth, the vipers fang in this deck. It has untapped creatures have hexproof and tapped creatures have deathtouch. And then add scute swarm so you can make alot of tokens and add other token cards.
