Fynn the Fangbearer | Deathtouch Tribal | Commander | EDH | Budget | Cut-Rate Commander

Welcome to the first episode of Cute-Rate Commander - the series where to take low price commander's and make budget decks with them. The first Commander we will be covering will be Fynn, the Fangbearer - a mono green commander who'll show player's we don't need any other colors to have them drowning in poison (counters).
A few things that needs to be corrected - Acidic Slime only destroys artifacts, enchantments, and lands (Still good removal), Shared Summon's is an instant (Making it even better when tutor on your opponents turn) and the deck has only 27 Basic Forests, making the Land total 35, not 36. If you guys happen to find any more error's, please let me know.

Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to have a more in depth look into how the deck plays instead of just listing the cards and having the viewer figure it out. I'm thinking of keeping that consistent for future video's unless its not received well.

Yeah - I know, I promised myself that if this video got at least 50 views I would go for a Budget Headset (keeping on theme) for recording. I'm thinking ONIKUMA Gaming Headset since multiped sites have reviewed it well and it about $30.

First of all your deck techs are amazing! I will definitely buy and try the deck. I also want to test instead of going the evasion route with Prowlers Helm, etc. if the taunt route with Nemesis Mask, Tempting Licid, etc. would also work out. Guess it really depends on the board state :D Adding Smell Fear from in the meantime released Modern Horizon 2 would also be awesome. It´s also a fight effect and although it is worse compared to the punch ones for the decks purpose letting your hornet nest fight a big creature is always super funny :D

Evasion would certainly be a good way to take this build to make it a bit more alpha strike-y and taunt effects are definitely a good way to make sure our deathtoucher get those kills. And yeah, having the Hornet Nest fight some huge creature - especially if we can do it at instant speed is both hilarious and deadly!

Would you put Swiftfoot boots in the deck or anything to attach to Flynn to give him some protection? It’s a nasty Commander and I see him quickly becoming target! Thanks, love this build!

Glad to hear you enjoyed the build! Swiftfoot boots would be a fine addition to our existing protection sources (Whispersilk Cloak, Snake Umbra, etc) to keep Fynn alive since he is going to be eating a whole lot of removal otherwise.

Akroma's Memorial if you have it is a win con if you play vs black or red or anything really, its not budget (technically Dolmen Gate isn't but being around $4-5 its value for this deck is maybe the best upgrade you can make that isn't "budget")

Good to hear but just a bit of warning - Infect/Poison counter decks tend to have a negative stigma associated with them, so I would just confirm with your playground if they're okay with it before you put it together - lest you end up with a bunch of angry friends.

Forewarning, this deck will hardcore get you targeted. If you sit at a table with infect/poison counters. The entire table wants you dead.

I was lucky enough to get Vorniclex in my booster box. Would he double the poison granted by Fynn?

Yep - since he doubles all counter's you would put on creatures and players any deathtoucher along with Fynn would deal 4 poison counter. Vorniclex, Monstrous Raider would be a great addition to the deck if we wasn't completely out of budget (Like $38 at the time of posting this) - but if you've already got him, he'll definitely pull his weight as a top end for this build.

@@GrazzetMTG Thank you very much for the information. A card that you should look at is Cazur,Ruthless Stalker. He adds a +1/+1 counter on any creature when they do combat damage

I dont play commander but you have helped me with my death touch poison deck I want to make i can only run 60 cards so I have to build and do alot of test runs to see what combo will work the best so thank you
