The best channel on youtube for this subject. I don't understand how you don't have at least 100k subs by now.

Prof, love that you included a transcript in the description. Haven't seen that before on KZbin. Is utilization of far red, to mimic sunrise and sunset, is that in your opinion snake oil? (I'm saying turning on far red light after main lights turn off for the night, for 15 minutes and same for morning) I'm trying to find this answer before expending too much energy. Thanks

No need for the mimic of sun rise or set, slow startups on lights may be an option, but there is no proof this is advantageous to plant performance.

Was wondering if you would be willing to take a look at this led grow light, and share your .02 about it's umols/sec as it pertains to far red and uv. Much appreciated!! Light is the "660w Kingbrite Copacabana".

Does not seem like a commercial grade light.

@@DeBaccoUniversity Thanks for your reply. I got giddy and ended up buying it!! Lol. What don't you like about it? It does have the proper 5% IR and 5% UV. Build quality is aluminum but it's fine for my 4x4.

@@MrStrife622 how are you liking the light? Kingbrite is one of the better small brands out there and the light looks like a beast.

@@deleqtronica8733 I've only used it a few times, but it worked extremely well. Good quality, easy to put together, and the controller was very intuitive to configure.

@@deleqtronica8733 I didn't do any par readings, but my plans did very well under them and I did not have any stretching. Plus everything ran relatively cool due to all of the aluminum. So I could get the light even closer

Near infrared is close to visible red light, far red described here is closer to microwaves.
