Thanks so much for so clearly explaining that statement of the PM about the purpose of his existence on earth. Am fed up of people misconstruing the statement as being one of self-glorification and claiming to be divine. Do we not all ask ourselves about why we have been sent to earth by God (if we believe in one)? Shame on us if we don't ever spare a thought to that. Our country has had more than its fair share of politicians who come here with the sole intention of lining their pockets. It is indeed sad that we are unable to honestly and open-heartedly appreciate one who has clean intentions and wants to do his best for the nation. He may not be perfect, but for God's sake, he is HUMAN. He admits to that, proving thereby that he does not imagine he is God! Also found the arguments of the PM's actions being pre-planned and having deeper intentions extremely strange, what is bad about planning or having intentions, so long as they are good? Is this a tragic comment on our times, that we cannot accept anyone and more so a politician talking from the bottom of their hearts, giving voice to their most authentic feelings? Really sad that a sincere conversation needs to be politicized this way forgetting that politicians are also first and foremost (or should be) normal human beings like any of us.

Before words are spoken, especially in an interview it's necessary to put the point across using the same benchmark, or standard of judgement for all leaders, opposition included, and voice it. Had Modi been a muslim, as this name has been used in Hindu, Jain, Muslim and even Parsi communities, Godhra and Sabarmati wouldn't have happened. That apart our PM, may he live long enough to realise his objective in this world, the person that he is very sensitive empathetic and humble at the same time. Such person rarely come by as a National Leader and it calls for all of us to render our respect and extend cooperation.
