Hey miss Debbie, I know I am two years late. Let me start by saying I could watch you all day. You speak and your attitude is just like my mom's. So I learnt two tricks that helped me with this recipe.. 1. I poked the cake quite a few times (3/4) ways in and all around and that helped the cake soak right through.. 2. In the glaze, I added half the rum in first and the other half I added after I turned the stove off and that helped strengthen the rum.. All in all... I am glad I followed your footsteps

Good day, Miss Debbie. I love watching your videos! I too, was born and grew up in a small country town. My great granny and great auntie raised me, and I was blessed to spend many happy hours in their little kitchens watching them prepare delicious meals and desserts from scratch, using fresh fruits and vegetables from their gardens. Your videos take me back to those lovely memories, and I just want to say, "Thank you from the fullness of my heart". Keep on being and doing YOU! Blessings 🙌

*Queen❤ Absolutely gorgeous!! Made me think of my Grandmother when she made a rum cake. I think she used Bacardi, I believe the dark one. While it was warm, she would use a wooden skewer to poke holes in it for the syrup. Once it was out of the pan, she would cover it with cheese cloth and then pour the syrup over the cloth. It would be so tender&moist...mmm...mmm...mmm. Much love to you&camera girl* 😊😊😉😉

Ms. Debbie, my Home Economics Teacher. Did you let the cake cool before pouring on the glaze when in the bunt pan? Ms Deb, my mother use to make a confectioners glaze with the rum and orange juice. It finished with a mildly thick white glaze drizzling all over and running down the sides. Should have written down her recipe. So glad to see yours. Big up, I use to go to St. Mary High. Ms Watson who use to have a pastry shop in Highgate was my Home Ec teacher. I hope she is still around. Love your classes Ms. Debbie.
