How to make Authentic Jamaican fruit cake rich and decadent

Rich decadent authentic Jamaican fruit cake recipe just in those for thanksgiving dinner, all ingredients are on point, just take your time and put your ingredients together and be patient and you will have a delicious fruit cake for the holidays.

Here are the ingredients used:
Fruit Cake Recipe
1 lb all purpose or cake flour
1 tbs cinnamon powder
1 tbs nutmeg
1 tbs mixed spice
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 tbs baking powder
1 lb butter or 4 sticks (Room temp.)
1 lb brown sugar
12 eggs (1 pound of eggs can range anywhere from 8-10 eggs depending on their size so if its large eggs use 9, i usually add extra because i remove the eyes and i lose some egg in the process and this never fails)
1 tsp orange zest
1/2 tsp lime zest
5 cups finely chopped fruits (soaked in rum & wine)
2 tbs vanilla
1 tsp rose water
Add browning accordingly
Add extra rum & wine accordingly
Measurements in cups
1 lb flour = 3 1/3 cups
1 lb brown brown sugar = 3 1/2 cups (if loose)
(2 1/4 if packed)
1 lb butter = 4 sticks
Notes:
Pre-heat oven to 250•F
Grease & line baking pans with parchment paper
Bake for 2 hrs and 15 minutes , check after 2 hrs if your skewer or toothpick runs Dry

i have been baking these cakes for 6yrs now, started with a simple recipe, moved to more flashy ones with breadcrumbs and supposedly better wines etc, trust me when i tell you guys simple is best. The best balance is between the sweetness from the sugar and fruits versus the slight bitterness from the wine and browning/burnt sugar, find that balance. This recipe here and her method of having everything ready separately will make this easy for you and produce delicious cakes with balance of ingredients, the yield is also perfect as you don't want to be in the kitchen for only one to two cakes, follow along perfectly and then experiment. This is a great video and thanks for sharing to the benefit of so many.
