Regarding the "Pickfair" reference: Pickfair was a huge mansion in Beverly Hills owned by Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks. A few years after Mary died, Pia Zadora bought it but subsequently had it torn down and said that it was infested by termites. She later admitted to lying about termites and that she thought it was inhabited by ghosts. That explains Debbie's line "I heard it was infested by termites". Just some trivia FYI. Great song!

Voltei a minha adolescência!❤❤❤❤❤

my two favorites doing a rousing cover of my favorite musical (High Society, 1956). Hard to imagine Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby singing this (minus the banter) huh? But both versions are great in their own ways!

I appreciate they did this, my biological grandfather died the year before of AIDS. He was a doctor and editor of a medical journal in San Francisco. Quite a few medical people lost their lives while Reagan moralized, dick.

I wonder how much of this song is just Debbie & Iggy just winding up and just winging it! I would have loved to have been in the studio for the alternate takes and experience the banter. It just sounds like they had too much fun recording this song!

@HEY 4Q2 :D No chance! Repo Man is the one I had in mind, though my dimmer memory of others like Walker is that they were good too. Not sure how he went so wrong with Sid and Nancy.

@HEY 4Q2 'Sometimes people just explode.' I wasn't sure if Repo Man would stand up to my 52-year-old sensibility, but I like it now at least as much as I did at the time. It's hilarious and unique. I hated Sid and Nancy at the time, but was unaware that anyone else did. It's been very validating to find it so universally loathed.

@JohnMoseley
@JohnMoseley 3 жыл бұрын
@@trinatrice4003 Quite honestly, it's such a long time since I saw it that I only really remember not liking it. But the Pistols had felt like such an important cultural moment and like serious art in a lot of ways and I think the film utterly failed to do justice to or live up to that. It's like some trivial, unrealistic and not very funny cartoon.
