Merry Christmas ! I have said it before in some of your older videos - it is great to see someone explaining the basics like this , Everyone seems to have gone down the microcontroller path and has forgotten to teach the basics or how we had to design things before micros and things like bouncer library's . Have a merry Christmas my friend and i hope that many young electronics enthusiast find your channel - Wish i had this sort of thing when i was a kid !

Merry Christmas! I started studying electronics at 13 in the 90s. It's a much better time now :)

@@Electronzap Merry Christmas to you too ! I started at the age of 10 in 1980 but things like the internet didn't exist then - well it wasn't available to me nor were computers . I had to learn from the local electronics magazine - if i could get it and try to work it out from there . It wasn't until that same Magazine published an edition called basic electronics that explained how everything worked that the electronics world sort of lit up for me ! Wish i had your channel back then! s

Great tutorial. Thank you for your efforts. One small video tip... Please add some dead space after you finish teaching and place the pop-up links there. We are hungry to get every morsel of information and the pop-ups are covering up your final comments. Please and thank you.

I thought I left enough but did notice that while premiering it and didn't think anyone would care. So thanks for mentioning it!

Good video! Back in the days my teacher told us "capacitors loves sparks" and that is what you proved. I guess!

@Electronzap, what size of debouncing capacitor would you use for a ballswitch (tilt) in case of 4V supply? Switch is disturbed by high frequency vibrations coming out from a DC vibration motor. Also, it (the ball switch) is on a low tide - which probably doesn't matter for a capacitor operation?

Not sure, but that's an interesting situation. Vibrations would probably last longer than the bounce of a closing switch, so a capacitor by itself wouldnt be as effective. I'd probably make an actual timing circuit that responds right on the first contact and stays there for a bit more than what is needed when the contact is broken. That's pretty much what you'd do for any circuit where switch bounce will cause a lot of problems.

Lol yeah. I was getting noticeable bounces about 3 out of 5 times right before filming that scene. Happy New Year to you!
