Yeah £80 for something that can't decide if the wire is there, there or it might be over there, or maybe there isn't one at all, it just likes beeping 😒😂🤦♂️

@@Gidjoiner I know what you mean, 🙄 I have a Stanley one that I bought Years ago. It worked ok for a while but it's a bit tired now. I might splash out on a fancy Bosch cordless wall scanner some Day, maybe... 😁 🔨 🇮🇪

Thank you Nigel 👍 sometimes each job requires a slightly different approach but there's a few basics that are in my head so i do try to share my thoughts,

Great video mate, love watching you on the install’s, I see what you mean about the Makita nail gun, if it struggles to get through a bit of beech it’s got no chance against the hardwoods here 👌👌👌👍👍👍🇦🇺

Thanks Graham, yeah i've heard about some of the woods down there 💪😂 the air Bostitch is small & powerful but trying to get away from corded/hose tools I was looking for an 18g cordless, my Hikoki 15g, 16g & framing gun fires the nails in well, but their 18g has a fat nose & looked a little big, , &! it's been discontinued 😒 I'm avoiding Dewalt because i wasn't impressed with the framing nailer, their guns look big n heavy & i don't want another bloody charger to add to the list, the Milwaukee narrow crown stapler fires those in well & feels powerful, + the reviews of the 18g seem good, but again it looks big, all their guns look like they have the same main body with a different nail magazine attached, so i wouldn't have got that Milwaukee inside these shelves, the Makita it is ok on softwood which is what i would normally be using. i don't often pin hardwood on & even then it would maybe be done in the workshop with the air gun, (I need to check that the Bostitch 18g does fire these through 20mm Beech into ply before i say too much, I'm pretty sure it would 😏🤷♂️😂) Anyway after a trial with this Makita that only fires up to 40mm & getting paid a little extra from this job because apparently ' I didn't charge enough ' , (can't argue with that), I've ordered the Milwaukee 😁😁😁👍 I'll have the Makita for smaller stuff & hopefully the Milwaukee will provide a bit more grunt for larger stuff, we'll see... hope i'm not disappointed,

Always good to watch your vids Gid, know what you mean about bostich nail gun great tool (small and light), Asked you about this a while back. I bought the Hyundai silent small compressor recently , would recommend this as you don't have to shout to speak to somebody and won't give you a headache.👍
@Gidjoiner2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Graham, much appreciated, glad you like them 👍 Yeah the compressors are a bit loud, i only bought that Dewalt last yr so can't really buy another, & 😁 might not need it for most jobs now 😁 I take it you bought the Bostitch gun, yeah they are top quality & hard to beat, I'll still use mine in the shed 👍

Good job Gid keep up the good work 👍. I see your using Makita a lot more
@Gidjoiner2 жыл бұрын
Thanks David 👍 Yep, since replacing the track saw for cordless i'm om the Makita slippery slope, I tried to keep the amount of chargers i had down to a min but there were quite a few tools i didn't want Bosch, so i've slowly been replacing my corded tools, 😊👍

@@Gidjoiner I have had Panasonic,Makita, DeWalt and then Bosch but I really liked the Bosch so I have stuck to them for most tools. But Makita seem to have a better range and sets available and they are always looking to improve.

Great job as usual thanks for posting What type of wood did you use for the frame around the box and door styles
@Gidjoiner2 жыл бұрын
Thanks John 👍 the wood is Beech, it's a bit more expensive than pine but it's the cheaper of all the hardwoods, well used for furniture making, pine can shrink & warp because of the wide soft wavy grain & nots, this Beech is straight grained with very few nots, it also feels a lot better, it has that solid cold hardwood feel to it, even after painting you can feel the difference, , overall it just makes for a more stable & longer lasting, better feeling product 👍👍
@johnryder68532 жыл бұрын
@@Gidjoiner thanks it’s really nice piece of wood bet you can get a nice finish to it as well 👍
@Gidjoiner2 жыл бұрын
no prob, yeah sands well, very little fluffing up & machines well, after spraying the grain hardly shows, sometimes a little bit of grain is nice though 👍
@darrylkennedy21252 жыл бұрын
Gid. Question. Could you have cut a section out of the skirting instead of scribing the frame ?
@Gidjoiner2 жыл бұрын
No, f'kin cowboys trick that, these things are classed as semi-permanent, take them out in a few yrs n you'll find some tw*ts cut a slot in the skirting .
