I don't how many session did Kelly take at this moment. But it's amazing that her athletic instinct together with Deb's fantastic instruction help her to progress so fast.

I'm new to skiing this past year and fortunately have been able to go 5 times to CO and live in FL. I absolutely love your videos and how you break down the different elements regarding body mechanics (I'm an occupational therapist) and making people have increased body awareness. Thank you for your time teaching us!

Hi Deb, I'm loving all of the videos; the clarity with which you teach is amazing. Any chance you'd do a video on the development of ski technique over the last 40 or so years -- maybe comparing and contrasting the movements/tactics, etc.?

Now that would be fun!!!!!!! I put a presentation together about 20 years ago co.aring the new and the "old" back then. Ill give some thought to that.

It is so useful to see other skiers learning to know their difficulties because they can be yours too. It's like have someone else to fall for you and learn from their mistakes. The teacher seems to be quite patient, close and her tips are very practical and a great coach

You’re videos are also so helpful deb. I’m not a beginner but I still enjoying watching and learning from you. I was wondering about the arms so I’m glad you commented about it. Having proper arm position really helps me keep my weight over the skis.

Deb! I discovered your channel just this year and can't get enough. I love the itermediate/advanced videos, cause I get soooo much insight from them, but even these beginner videos are great to just witness the analogies and metaphors you use! So amazing to witness how you're blending your amazing skiing capability with thought-through, expert didactics. I'm starstruck! I know it's possible to ski with you in Taos, but if you ever come to Europe (Cortina? 😄 remember it from your Top Ski Resorts video) I will do everything to book an opportunity to ski with you - I mean it serioudly! I bet it would be unforgettable. Please don't stop posting the amazing content!

Another great video! I have picked up so many bad habits from just skiing and not having lessons . One thing I still really struggle with is rotating my upper boddy to initiate turns and also skidding the back of my skis. Your videos have taught me a lot to try and correct those issues. Thanks! Love your style of teaching

Deb; I really enjoy your video's because your method of teaching is very much like mine. I used to teach from the manuals but now talk more from the students life experiences less terminology and more everyday verbiage from everyday movements. Plus thanks for the (heart) you sent today I felt honored that it came from you!

Hi Deb: Is “opening the door “ and shortening the inside leg similar to shifting weight to inside leg? At the 7:20 minute mark of video. What is happening to the outside leg at that moment? Thank you.

I hope one day I can take lesson from you. I am going to take my lesson for the first time in Squaw! I get anxious and super afraid of height, but I love skiing. Any advise? I am at level 2 beginner . I learned it on my own, but I can’t turn Ans stop well so that makes me 😟

I love how you limit how much you will throw at her. She seems to like to throw her shoulder to help initiate turns. When you are ready to get at that with her, what do you like to do to begin to address it?
@daprovocateur2 жыл бұрын
Deb, I’m so happy to find your videos. Best instruction on KZbin! Where are you located? Question: at what stage do you teach separating the lower body from upper body? Does it depend on type of turn? Steepness? Speed?
@ehsanmon2 жыл бұрын
Why shouldn't we bend from waist? Is that the same thing as hinging from the hip? My ski instructor tells me that I should get lower by making more angles at all three joints : ankle, knee, and hip. The steeper the terrain, the more angle we should make.
@philiplacey54302 жыл бұрын
Your instructor is correct. "Bending at the waist" as in bending over to tie your shoe is not the same as creating an angle at the hip to facilitate your turns. It's fore and aft vs side to side. Bending at the waist is the kiss of death for so many athletic activities: surfing, skateboarding, rowing, riding a bike etc. Everything improves with an engaged core and good posture.
