Silicone mold tip: I know some artists will wet their finger with water and a tiny dab of Dawn dish soap to smooth the edges of the silicone form and press it down to help prevent the paints from bleeding under it, without the silicone sticking to their fingers. It's also supposed to help keep the edges of the geode from being as sharp too, so less sanding. I hope you find this tip useful. Love your Geode! It's just Beautiful! :-)

Dakota Sky silicone mold?
@dakotasky70925 жыл бұрын
@@clayfeathers Yes. She made a geode free form mold out of silicone. I've heard other artists say to use a tiny dab of Dawn dish soap and water on your finger and dab it along the inside of the silicone mold so the resin doesn't stick to it when the artist takes it out of the mold.

@MissJaydeIMVU5 жыл бұрын
what the title is supposed to say is Free Form, Resin Art. Meaning she built it from nothing, no wooden board or canvas etc. If you are trying to do Geode's without resin you can do them with Acrylic paint, its the Pour method. Meaning you will need Floetrol to mix with your paint to help it have the flowing movement like resin & if you mix a couple of drops of Silicone into the paint it will do all types of amazing magic. I'm sure you can find some helpful tutorials on that

Is that just silicone you are using for the shape Debs?
@DebraSmithArt5 жыл бұрын
Yes, 100% silicone caulk on a vinyl plastic sheet from the fabric store. I don't flood coat mine to level because I like the stones to have texture - I'm a touchy-feely kinda gal. But you could certainly do several floods until it's flush. You'd have to make sure you build your silicone higher than the stones.
