Dispute it on credit karma they are breaking the law buying ur personal information. It’s a HIPPA law i didn’t give my permission in any paper work for them to share my personal information with anybody anyone third party etc. ask them to please remove you from their list. They have 30 to do it. I’ve had 8 things taken off

Hello Steve! I have a question if you do not mind. I had a van catch fire and it was on public land, city police had it towed and I got a statement from the tow yard saying I owed 254 for the tow, the statement also shows $66 a day for storage fees. The collector is showing me that the tow yard held the van 30 days. The debt collector sends me a bill for $1600+. I responded asking collector to confirm the bill. They responded with an itemized statement showing there is only 21 days of late fees. To me that's a red flag because we all know tow yards do not normally leave close to 600 dollars on the table. So I guess my question is do I have an angle?

What if you don’t get a letter? You should immediately dispute it with the credit bureaus, big time!

Yes and be prepared for them to respond and let them know they violated the process by placing it on your credit reports without giving you the initial opportunity to dispute the debt.

What if this credit collection pertains to a insurance company over vehicle damages they say I'm responsible for because a mechanic cause an accident while test driving my vehicle?I took my vehicle to a mechanic garage to b fixed The mechanic/owner of garage got in an accider while test driving my vehicle. It was determined the mechanic was at fault using improper turn causing damage to another vehicle. My insuranc company won't pay because I had only liability insurance, and because the mechanic cause the accident. ThenI get a letter from the other vehicle owners insurance company saying I am responsible and demand payment $8810.66. 30 days later I get a letter from a collection agency wanting the amount above.

depends on what kind of debt it is and last payment and what state. still dispute and ask for proof. if they have proof and you are still vulnerable to judgement, you could be stuck. there are lots of ifs and unknowns about your situation.
