Just a suggestion, you could keep your Etsy shop open, but just sell digital products. You don't have to ship anything but could still earn some more money! (Sorry for my english)

But if your washing machine breaks you can look for a credit that it's not 63% That interest is insane, it should be the first priority, because it's going to go up, the minimum payment doesn't cover the interest
@lorettacarroll6015Ай бұрын
I have only ever heard that type of interest on payday loans. When my niece and her family had covid, they couldn't work, so she took one out. Once I found out, I paid it and told her to pay me back as she could without interest.

Debt one would increase by 415 a month my advice is take you number 9 number 10 and 11s amount and the usual 29.28 and that means that will take it down by 548 take a look at what’s left and pay it off the next month is my advice. Yes some will build interest but not as much as the top one get that top one knocked out as fast as possible then go back to regular payment on each as well as take the 29.28 and snowball that on its own to debt 2. I hope this helps

You’ve got this! I wish you all the success and motivation on this journey! I don’t want to give any unsolicited advice so feel free to disregard this but I had a couple ideas to increase your income while I was watching: 1. Short form videos have become increasingly popular these days so you could give those a go. 2. Have you considered selling digital downloads in your Etsy shop? You make the most beautiful cash envelopes and I imagine that would be much less time consuming than having to ship physical products so it might be an option while you’re on maternity leave. 3. Do you have an Amazon storefront? I would definitely use your link to buy that stunning calculator and floral mat!

If I am calculating this correctly the monthly interest for Debt#1 is £34.98 a month. (£658.99 x 0.637 then divide by 12) I am afraid the minimum monthly of £29.28 doesn’t even cover the interest. If you only make minimum payment on that one, it’ll keep growing. I think you should aim to pay at least £35 a month so it doesn’t just grow. Good luck on your journey.

I made some quick, rough calculations for debt #1. Hope it helps. It is for 24 months, assuming that you would pay the remaining balance after 24 months (not counting the past, only from now on) Scenario #1 Paying just minimum payments: You would pay £702.72 over 24 months and have the remaining balance of £904.50. Total cost after paying it off completely after 24 months £1607.22 Scenario #2 Paying £35 per month to keep the remaining balance roughly the same: You would pay £840.00 over 24 months and have the remaining balance of £658.19. Total cost after paying it off completely after 24 months £1498.19 Scenario #3 Paying £50 per month: You would pay £1200 over 24 months and have the remaining balance of £12.28 Total cost after paying it off completely after 24 months £1212.28 Scenario #4 Paying £100 for the first 3 months and then £50 per month: You would pay £934.95 over 16 months to have it paid off completely. The difference between scenario #1 and #4 is £672.27 Hope it helps

The worst bit is always acknowledging how bad things are . Onwards and upwards from here on in. We made that up and down journey in and out of debts so many times in our mid-20s to mid-30s until it finally stuck and we got into a position and mind set to not go there again. Well done for facing it - that's the hard part now to move on! I HIGHLY recommend you meal plan and portion control food, even snacks, list everything down and keep it strict it will really help you. Make at home what you can. I would be cooking some bulk meals NOW before the baby comes even something basic like spag bol so you just have to reheat and take away isn't knocking as an idea. It's ok to have basic pancakes or even toast for dinner some nights so don't feel that you need to do a full meal every night. With ANY income you earnt from You Tube I would just push that straight into debt don't count it as income for the house / bills. Start googling side hustles and survey's you can do from home on your phone. Google mystery shopping , google free samples, see what you can get as a new parent. Join your local buy nothing group , people are always passing on clothes their kids have outgrown. It's going to be a million little things that all add up - It's going to be hard but you will appreciate the journey.

I am assuming you have car loans. Would it be possible to sell one of the cars and manage for a while with just one car? I know it may not be possible but it would wipe out a massive monthly payment. Good luck.
@rainbowbudgetsandplansАй бұрын
I've looked into this and selling the smallest car (we would still need the big one!) Wouldn't give us enough money to pay off the loan in its entirety. Plus with the schedules of 4 (almost 5) different people it's hard to manage with just 1 car. We will of course revisit the idea in the future.

I would possibly consider selling cars and other items and use the debt snowball method rather than the debt avalanche as it’s more psychological and yo feel like your making progress faster. Be careful with the Debt Management Companies. I've heard some not good stories about them. Maybe u can call the credit card companies and negotiate a lower interest rate for hardship (for each credit card)? You could do the same for your electricity and other house hold bills?

I think if we were to go down the DMP route we would use stepchange as I believe they are government ran? I might be wrong. But ive known people who used them and they don't charge anything, unlike other companies. 🌈❤️

@@rainbowbudgetsandplansstepchange have changed my life and has helped me feel less anxious. With the debt management plan, They go through your budget and then work out how much you have at the end of the month. The left over goes to the debts. Stepchange will also give you other options

I know you want to have the emergency fund. Would you be able to add some sort of appliance cover to your home insurance that covers them? That way the emergency fund wouldn’t have to be as big a priority and you could try to pay off debt 1 as that has high interest. Also maybe you could consider getting buy me a coffee like some other budgeters do and you could put that towards debt 1 ❤

Our emergency fund wouldn't just be for appliances, this was just a singular example. There are many things that could happen that would require an emergency fund first 🌈❤️

I think your husband needs to pick up weekend work for awhile to help bring in extra to help get this debt down to a more comfortable number. Financial stress is not good for families. Team work does wonders. You and your family can do this. Make this journey a game. Involve the whole family. Your not the only one who was ever in debt, I'm sure your readers can offer lots of great advice. I know you can do this

Nothing wrong with debt management plan,at least it freezes interest, don’t forget while your on mat leave look into universal credits too even £20 a month would be a help, something is better than nothing. Also have you applied for dla for big pickle, it’s not done on diagnosis but on needs of the child xx

I would suggest looking at becoming a childminder . With three children and the cost of childcare, you might end up making more by a short term shift in careers. Also, if you work 40 hours you can claim 33% back on your utilities and other tax advantages . I know it’s not for everyone but it was a real lifesaver for some of my friends with young children and a tight budget .

Line in the sand Natalie. No shame here just living. We have your back. Can you ask someone to act as a monitor so they can block any negative comments as I don’t think you need to see those. You have this
