KZbin, All I want to do is watch a video, stop making me update. let me answer your questions -According to "The Journal of the two sisters" it was the hearths warming eve leaders....and starswirl the bearded. -The tree of harmony -If I remember right, celestia said that she could only use a fraction of the elements power to trap luna in the moon. Meaning that luna still held a fraction of it's power...similar to how, Without the other elements, twilight was able to use her crown's power in equestria girls. Then again, there's still allot of unclear information in regards to the elements of harmony. -Celestia and luna were no longer in harmony with each other, ergo a new group was needed to wield the elements of harmony. I really need to read this tale of two sisters book. I could very well be giving it too much credit, but it is fairly clear (to me at least) that it at least is a big player if not the main one. The fact that the castle that the tree made is sending the mane six on specific missions says there is strings being pulled and its not from Celestia. Its also the origin of the elements of harmony as well. Still you've given my big theory a run for its money, you have no idea how fun that is for me :D I'd rather my theory be blown out of the water than have it unchallenged and wrong, that's just no fun for anyone.

I thought about just this about a month before the S5 premier. It occurred to me Celestia's dream may have told her more than just Tirek's return, and Luna, being a dream walker, knows pretty much the entire plan. Celestia sending Discord, giving all the magic to Twilight, and telling her not to tell her friends appears to all be part of an elaborate plan not only to reform Discord once and for all, but also to orchestrate the creation of the final key. It stands to reason knowing how to create the keys could negate it's creation, it's pretty clear Twilight did figure it out, and I've no doubt Discord figured it out as well and marked the pages. I'm not sure how much, if any, of Discord's betrayal was part of any plan of his to "teach" Twilight her valuable lesson, but what's at least true is Discord was keeping information from Tirek on account of trust issues, at least up until he was given that "token of friendship" which turned out to be a lie from Tirek. The entire string of events may well have been a collision of gambits from all three of them; Celestia, Twilight and Discord all. Celestia's gambit should be pretty obvious, as well as why she couldn't tell anypony. Discord's gambit is questionable, clear it truly pained him to betray Fluttershy, but outside that it's difficult to tell if he planned ahead that far. Twilight's gambit, however, was one that sprung up only at the end. There was a hesitation before telling Tirek to free Discord as well, and when questioned how she could still consider him a friend, she responded, "Just do it." It's clear in the way she says it that she doesn't consider him a friend. I think the rainbow flash in her eyes may well have been her realization that if she gave him a chance way back in Keep Calm and Flutter On that this most recent chain of events may not have ever happened. I see this as Twilight apologizing to Discord for all the mistrust and never giving him a chance. Discord, on the other hand, it seems to me that he learned his lesson of friendship from Fluttershy. He betrayed Fluttershy and that's the friendship he feels he lost. It is difficult to say throughout the season how much he was trying to be friends with Twilight, more evidence pointing to him just trying to get her goat. Him giving her the token at the end I think more signifies him apologizing to her not only for his betrayal and siding with Tirek, but possibly for not giving her the full benefit of the doubt either. In the end, I think they did learn a legitimate lesson on friendship and trusting each other, and there was that moment of concern whether or not that lesson may have been learned too little too late. If anything I'd have liked to have seen, it's reserving enough time for the "key" to have failed, giving Discord and Twilight that extra moment to have a heart to heart about their respective transgressions, and a proper admission from both sides that neither ever truly gave the other a chance, and that act being what finally transforms the item into the key. Not that anyone will read any of this.

It's true that this was all predestined or prophesied but the who isn't just one entity, but the Court of Harmony itself. Every being that is apart of the Court of Harmony has contributed to the battle and defeat of not just Tirek, but all of the villains of the show and movies (including Luna's evil counterpart, the Tantabus). The Court of Harmony is the inter dimensional (because of Equestria girls) Government of the multi-verse of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls which has been fully established in secret by not just Starswirl Lebearded, but others. All of the villains create the Court of Disharmony and the two governments have been battling throughout time. It's all a test.

I think that Celestia planned the whole Discord betrayal thing, Discord was meant to do this, notice how he winked at Celestia at the end of the episode, when he is giving flowers to her. She probably knew that Tirek had the sixth key and that bringing an old friend to Tirek would make him give something he doesn't really care about as a sign of "friendship". Also to note, Twilight was wondering what she meant to be as a princess and then a song pops up saying "You'll play your part" like if they knew all along that Twilight had to spread the magic of friendship all across Equestria, like she already does in season 5. I don't know, maybe this is the reason, also, I wouldn't be really surprised that Zecora can also see the future.

I think Discord knew, nearly from the beginning that he had to give Twilight her key, he just didn't know the circumstances surrounding it. His "friendship test" in Three's a Crowd was an attempt to fulfill the requirements to grant her her key, but it failed because he did not truly understand how it worked. The circumstances and the lesson learned needed to be genuine, not manufactured and manipulated into place through deception. So it was indeed Discord that marked the book.

I just finished watching all the Key episodes of season 4. in episode 8 at the station there is a shadow that belongs to a pony off screen. in rainbow falls there is a zebra just standing around staring at something. and that something is rainbow dash on the course. however it is too far to see the cutie mark. zecora was on the stage in one part of Pinkie pride, in episode 16 a shadow appeared same with Leap of Faith too. here are the unknown shadows too of season 4 episode 7,17,19,21,23

I guess there's been a little voice in the back of my head saying that from the first episode, Celestia knew more than what she was letting on. That perhaps she has always been the Master Manipulator behind the scenes. She would have to have a whole lot of confidence if she knew things like being beaten by Chrysalis and being captured by Discord's black vines. Or perhaps it's just over analysis considering that the show has multiple writers and I doubt their coordinated to that level.

What about when Discord got the key. He didn't tell Tierk about Twilight, because he didn't have the key. He also said once he got the key "And now, I have it". That could have meant that he wanted his gratitude and loyalty, or that Discord had planned it all along. You and Notion made pretty good points about Discord planning this. Also, Lord of Chaos, and let's not forget his first appearance when he took Twilight back in time. I wouldn't mind betting he can see into the future.

I strongly agree with the idea of Zecora being the mastermind behind the season 4 series finale. BUT I also think that it wasn't just one pony that planned the whole shibang. Think about it, we don't see the princesses (excludng Twilight) or Zecora for a majority of most seasons. Celestia sent Twilight to ponyville, and if you remember from bridle gossip, the main six talked about her as if Zecora lived in ponyville before Twilight arrived. What if Celestia knew zecora was there? There was also that one episode were Trixie returned with that amulet. Zecora seemed to have good knowledge on it, and considering the name, "Alicorn Amulet" Celestia and Luna would have history with it as well. Zecora, Celestia, and Luna could know eachother. I mean, really, were else would Zecora find out about all these artifacts and how to deactivate or retrieve them? We dont ever see her in the golden oak library when it was still standing, so could she have gotten it from Celestia? For the pony of shadows, that could be Zecora getting documents from that large old library (witch also could be the place were she is getting this info) But that's just my theory.

To answer your question about how much control celestia has over the other two parters, I have a head cannon that I think can explain it. We have seen Twilight use scientific instruments to measure magic before, and I believe the same can be said about the elements of harmony. As has been said in many other reviewers videos, Celestia always seems to know more about what is going on than she lets on. Except in one, A Canterlot Wedding, the only one with no ties to the elements of harmony.

There's a major flaw in your theory. Celestia woke up in a sudden, cold sweat when she had the Tirek vision. If she knew it was going to happen, why was she so surprised? Also, did that mean she knew she was going to lose to Chrysalis? If so, why did she? Twilight didn't really learn anything valuable there. No, Celestia can't see into the future, but perhaps there is another who can. BN's theory about Zecora could have more merit than you think. After all, her entire character is one big Deus ex Mahina. She always just happens to have what is needed for the situation. Take the 'Past Sight' potion. Why in the world would she just happen to have a potion that allows one to see into the past that requires alicorn magic to work? That is an incredibly specific use for a potion she just happens to have lying around. Now, it could be another is the one behind these happenings. My theory, the Tree of Harmony is the one behind it all. After all, it was linked to Twilight and the others through the Elements, and even gave Twilight the box. Also, Twilight's cutie mark is the same as the third symbol on the tree, surrounded by five stars, just like the Element of Magi is surrounded by five other Elements. I believe this is because the tree is the physical manifestation of a guardian spirit of some kind.

I think that Zecoras involvement is a plausible theory. Maybe after helping out Twilight in the second trixie episode she purposely got involved and watched over the mayne six, but in secret. It may be a bit too far back though. Celestias involvement I see being less likely though. I know some bronys like to see her as a god of ponies and she is pretty powerful but I see her visions to be warings to her and not sightings into the future. To the time travelling thing...I see it being less likely as well...where would she go to see these things? And if Celestia did put the bookmarks in the journals and I don't see it likely that she went on a secret mission to snatch it and read it before getting the right colour bookmarks to put in and know exactly what to do before the main six and herself. I'm confudleing myself.

Zecora can't see into the future. She can't use the flashback potion because it only responds to alicorn magic, and it would probably be the same with a potion to see the future. (I actually think Celestia had something to do with the creation of the flashback potion since it only responds to alicorn magic, and since the Elements of Harmony were in the throne room in the flashback while the thing they were on was in a different room in the very next episode and moving that thing would be absolutely ridiculous, I think Celestia modified what would be seen when drinking the potion and accidentally changed the location of the Elements while she was at it.) And I think Celestia was having that vision right as the event was happening, not before it happened. But when you talked about The Journal of the Two Sisters (which I consider canon) for a little bit, something occurred to me: WHAT IF STAR SWIRL DID IT?! He was always travelling into the future and probably knew a lot of what was going to happen even though he wouldn't tell Celestia and Luna. HE might have been the one setting it all up. That makes more sense than Zecora doing it, if you ask me. I always assumed that the shadow in the end of Castle-Mania was Zecora, but maybe it was actually Star Swirl! He wasn't wearing his usual outfit because bells are noisy and Twilight would probably recognize that outfit if she saw him.

Maybe he truth is Celesta and Zecora worked together to make it happen for example maybe Celesta saw an image of the future and asked Zecora to make a potion to allow her to see more of her vision then after that was done with she hired Zecora to watch the main six (hints the fact the shadow pony looked like Zecora) then when the whole thing was over they decided it was best to not speak of it again.

Okay, good theory, but I believe that it's actually Starswirl behind all of it.Think about it. Starswirl's spell is what made Twilight an Alicorn. What if he purposely left the spell unfinished? Think about it. You said yourselves that Starswirl had knowledge of time-travel, and even that he may have even known of Twilight. It is also mentioned in the Season 4 finale (albeit briefly) that Scorpan had befriended Starswirl, but it is never stated how exactly Tirek came into possession of the necklace. He states only that it "was given to him by somebody very close to [him]" and that it was given to him by his brother who betrayed him. This could be a blatant lie, given that he felt his brother betrayed him and the fact that he is already very much lying about it being a sign of his gratitude and loyalty to Discord. So by chance Starswirl could have purposefully instructed Scorpan to give it to Tirek before Scorpan left Equestria because he knew of the (future) events that unfolded in the Season 4 finale. As big of a lore-piece as he has been these past few seasons, I would not be surprised to find out that he's been behind much of these recent events.

If I may what if the dream suggests another form of seeing into the future. I'd like to point at a popular subject known as "Omens" or in definition "Symbolism often having a spiritual or dramatic meaning be it good or evil" Let's say Celestia did have awareness that the evils she faced would soon come back once again and knew that in that time she may not be able to stop it on her own. She could recieve an omen or form of foreshadowing with the tree of harmony or some other source before taking the steps to hopefully ensure the worlds safety. Zecora could very well have been either alive or passed down the stories of these events from ancestors seeing as her tribal based design would suggest that like many native people she is family oriented and stories of folk lore isn't uncommon I'd imagine. She acts as a voice of wisdom kind of like your old grandmother who could tell you about the world wars she may not have participated but her intelect is a huge help sometimes when making decisions. (How do you guys thing this holds up ? Please be kind in pointing out flaws it's just a minor theory not to debunk it but perhaps just retwist it a tad)

It was a good thing twilight didn't tell her friends about Tirek. They're great friends but damn it they're stupid at times. Apple Jack would probably try to get twilight leave or hide while she and most likely Rainbow Dash try to take Tirek on head on.

I'm just going to throw this out here....what if the pony of shadows might be Star Swirl. With him knowing about time travel and the text of knowing a star marked pony, I think that Star Swirl might meet Twilight in a later episode. This thought just popped in my head after watching this. I could be way off but it would be cool if it did happen. :)

I think Discord set it all up. He was the one who bookmarked the chapters. He did not tell Tyrek about the Princeses giving up their magic nor did he tell Tyrek about Twilight till he had received the amulet. I believe he even changed the stained glass window to something else until he got the amulet just to be safe. He did exactly what he needed to do to guarantee the chest would be opened and that Twilight would get what she wanted. And at the same time he received solid proof that twilight considered him a friend. If that doesn't sound like discord, just think back to when he was known as Q.
