Egg whites in the hair is the old-school way we would make Liberty Spike Mohawks stand straight in the 80s . Sometimes your hair would be 9” tall. I don’t recommend this for daily “Normie” hairstyles. The edd white (which you want to whip into a froth first) is very hard and unnatural finish. BUT for you neo-punk kids, this is how you achieve the look. Or white glue mixed with a bit of water. Yes, tall spike hair was sometimes a product of Elmer’s glue. Gen X was an innovative generation 😂

The glue hack was what my uni theater club prop geek did for most of our wigs. He did not encourage using that on real hair because it will ruin it in the long run.

I could definitely stand to drink more water, but the tap water where I live is nasty so I tend to only drink it when I have ice on hand, or I love flavored sparkling water.

The egg hack reminds me of when my friends and I were in our emo/scene/goth/punk phase; one of the guys used eggs to spike his long hair into a mohawk and it totally worked and was completely solid. We were at an an indoor all day metal/screamo festival and it was so hot inside and as the day went on he started to smell…rotten, he had to go home and shower it all off. 🤢

A note about egg as styling product: We used to like EXTREMELY crunchy curls in the early 2000s. My whole cheer team would whip up (basically meringue) eggs whites and use it as mousse to scrunch curls. Then they’d be on top of our heads decorated with a bunch of glittery ribbons and such! Egg whites were a must ESPECIALLY for games or competitions! 😵🤷🏻‍♀️🤗

I don’t know why no one ever mentions this, but aloe has to be allowed to drain before you use it. Cut the leaf, place cut-side down, let it ooze for several hours. Once all the yellow liquid is gone you’re just left with the clear part - which doesn’t smell. Also, there’s some evidence to suggest that the yellow part may be carcinogenic.

8:57 yes, aloe vera is a humectant, but to keep it moisturized, it needs an emollient, e.g. apply oil on it while it is still a little wet. Oh and aloe itself is applied to wet skin, not dry :)
