Horrible UI design. So much empty space and ugly graphics. Improvements I would make is to make the giant progress line on the left zoom out occasionally to view the entire map, or maybe use some of that empty space to fit one in. Announcer should state places of interest or importance and highlight them on the screen. Decrease that font size, and instead of still images for minding the gap and all that, use animations for better visual appeal. Maybe add one of those information bars that are on the screens of stations, to fill the space. If there's nothing to add, then don't make the background black.
