Rachel's tapes included nudity. So I don't think the same laws apply but I think the release of the video shows his intent regarding his lawsuit against Shannon. Likely everything Alexis is saying this season is going to hurt John's case. He's a monster for making the video public!

Each state is different. If it was a doorbell camera, you are on their property and know you are on a camera. But not sure if that footage can be used as a weapon against you, esp by a new gf for a reality tv show. I will guess she was drunk and shouted. Maybe she picked something up and threw it on the door or keyed his car. If she did anything beyond, the police should have been called. If he knew she was drunk and gong to drive, he should be in trouble for not calling the police. I think whatever it is, he will end up looking far worse for letting her drive drunk and put EVERYONE at risk.
